  It was off-season so we unfortunately missed seeing the roses and he couldn’t even start the distillers as there weren’t enough roses.

  We enjoyed a short hike between two villages at Jebel Akhdar. Our guide Ammar showed us the rose fields and pointed out various trees such as pommegranate, almond, walnut, apricot. Stunning views ! We were invited to his family house where we could see the distillation process, from petal to rose water. Thanks to our friendly guied that made our morning a memory that will last for a long time.

  Awesome trip to see the Damascus Roses of Jabal Akhdhar, many times I have been to Alila or Anantara in the hope of seeing the roses but I didn't know where or who to visit, so this tour was great. The guides are fun, friendly and informative! We stopped at a great coffee shop too and the pics amongst the roses were stunning... I am still enjoying my rose water glass bottles that I purcgased there, I spray on my face throughout the heat of the day ans the smell takes me back, just heavenly. I took my toddler, friends, and Havanese dog and we had an awesome experience and Salim our guide was patient with the baby and dog, as sometimes we were a bit slow. Overall a great day out for the girls and I cant wait to go again!

  From start to finish it was a wonderful, well-planned day. Drivers for each group were well organized and all guides were extremely friendly, helpful, and considerate. Every one of my many questions was answered by Said (the guide I was with). We started right on time at 8:30 and it was a full day of sightseeing from the car, walking along trails, and touring around the villages. You don't need hiking gear, but consider comfortable walking shoes or sandals. The tour of the rose water distillery was so informative and such a unique experience, I am hoping to make it back for next year's season now too!
