What To Expect
The boat of Ponzesi Per Scelta is waiting for you to live a unique experience in the crystal clear waters of Palmarola. It is a comfortable boat for both groups and families with children; it has the maximum capacity of 48 people who can stay comfortable both aft and forward or on the large sundeck upstairs. Our tour consists of a day boat in Palmarola, departing at 10:45/11:00 from the port of Ponza and returning at 17:00. Practical hours for those arriving or departing during the day. Normally we skirt Ponza from the caves of Pilate to the Lighthouse of the Guard, and then go directly to Palmarola. Once arrived, about 40 minutes of navigation, there will be the first stop for swimming, during the course of the day there will be 4 stops along the perimeter of the island. On board you will be served an aperitif with tomato bruschetta or pizzas and prosecco; then for lunch there will be a first course, in the afternoon sweet or fruit and coffee (the menu may vary if warned in advance of particular intolerances or allergies). Throughout the day on board there will be an open bar, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to customers.

5.00We made two excursions with the Ponzesi company by choice. The first with the small boat along the coast of the island of Ponza. A beautiful, relaxing and fun experience with stops to swim in beautiful places, a very nice crew and aperitif with tomato bruschetta, pizzas and prosecco, for lunch a delicious plate of pasta. We returned very happy The second trip was with the largest boat to the island of Palmarola. For my taste the boat was too crowded and although we visited picturesque spots there was no tranquility to enjoy them well for the amount of people there. The cooperative of the Ponzese by choice is undoubtedly a reliable company and with the heart for their craft and the well-being of their customers. Nevertheless, I would like to note two points of reflection that I believe could be improved: 1. Excessive consumption of plastic cups. If there are 70 people on board and each person changes their glass every time they go to get a drink it creates a mountain of unnecessary plastic waste. Nowadays, with the pollution problem we face, I think we can find better solutions with more respect for the environment. 2. There were so many people on board smoking all the time! I personally felt very annoyed by the smoking and attitude of people. I think smoking on a boat should be prohibited as it is on other public transport and in clubs.

5.00We were initially nervous for the journey as we didn’t speak any Italian and the boat had 40+ other people. Our nerves quickly went away. The crew was incredibly kind and accommodating, you couldn’t help but feel at home with the hospitality, food, and drinks being passed around. The value of experience for what we paid was amazing. We would do this again and again if we could stay.

5.00Finding the ferry in Formia is easiest if you take the stairs directly across the lot from the train station exit doors. The boats are docked at the end of the dock around from the ferry drop off. Figuring out which boat you are placed on is confusing because you aren’t given a boat name, but not hectic because the boat staff wear red shirts and will tell you which. Bring sunscreen and a full water because they don’t have drinks until the first stop and it’s very hot!! You don’t wear shoes on the boat. So much fun jumping into the gorgeous, clear water! Unfortunately we weren’t told much as far as a “tour” for what we were seeing-no history or stories. Only 3 stops to swim-take advantage and jump in. Float with a noodle or just the salt water.

5.00With Ponzesi by Choice every experience is special! I took the boat trip to Palmarola with them and it was fantastic: impeccable organization, pleasant atmosphere and breathtaking views. I always choose them, even several times a year, and I never miss the aperitif on the boat at sunset, which has now become a fixture. Highly recommended!

5.00We took part in the one-day boat tour in Palmarola, at first we were skeptical given the number of people on the boat but we had to change our minds, great organization! Also always from them we rented the scooter, excellent Service, new and functional scooter throughout with the services provided us with a voucher to buy in their store and we took advantage to make great purchases Congratulations!
