Overlooking the snow-topped peaks of the mighty Himalayas, the mountain resort of Nagarkot is on every visitor’s must-see list. But most tours end there, meaning tourists miss out on exploring the picturesque and culturally-rich surrounding regions. During this immersive hiking tour through the Kathmandu Valley, you’ll still have a chance to tick off Nagarkot’s world-famous sunrise panorama over the iconic mountain chain. But then, prepare to stretch your legs with a gentle trek through local villages and terraced hillsides. You’ll follow your guide on a smooth, downhill hike to the UNESCO-listed temple of Changu Narayan, a hidden gem that is usually overlooked by visitors. On the way, you’ll pass by red-brick Tamang and Newari homes, getting a slice of local life that most tours miss. You’ll even have the opportunity to stop and sample local delicacies by the tiny, family-run eateries that are scattered en route. Arriving at the temple, you’ll get a one-of-a-kind peek at the local artisans that are keeping stone and wood-carving traditions alive.

Had an amazing experience with green valley..my pick up from hotel was arranged by themselves only. There was never a need for any follow-up. The guide and the driver both arrived in time and were also carrying some refreshments for me. They even dropped me to my next hotel in Kathmandu without any additional charges at all… Loved the 10Km hiking. Very scenic views align the way and the guide was very helpful and friendly.

A friend and I had a charming walk with our guide Kapil. The sunrise was charming with mountain views and was followed by a walk through the hills and small temples. Kapil was very informative and was keen to answer all our questions not only about temples but every day life in Nepal. This is mostly an easy walk and a friendly introduction to the area, I really recommend taking advantage of his great local knowledge.

Had a great tour with Kapil. He was able to answer all our questions about the mountains, area we walked through and the stupas we visited. Tour starts at Nagarkot for the view of Everest (weather permitting), then a 2-3 hour easy hike (fairly flat but uneven/paved paths) through forest and villages before returning back to the hotel by car.
