The name Comrat consists of two words of Turkic origin “komur-at”, which means “black horse”. One of the legends says that a certain khan named the village in honor of his horse, who carried the wounded owner from the battlefield. During the tour, you will learn the history of the city, visit the most important and interesting sights.

Gagauzia îs a place I have dreamt about going to for years but never did. In 2018, I read an ethnography about the Gagauz people and have been fascinated ever since. Thankfully, this tour allowed me to see the pages I read about. My favorite parts of the tour were visiting the village of Besalma where the National Gagauz History and Ethnographic Museum is. Igor was a great guide, he answered my questions and was cool to be around.
