What To Expect
Paneriai (Ponar)
We will start from Paneriai memorial park, whre tousands of Jews from Wilna were killed.
Trakai Island Castle Museum
After the tour we will head to second capital of Lithuania, where today you can see the most beautiful castle in the Europe, on the island in the lake. Here will be possibility to have your lunch in traditional Karaim restaurant, or make boat trip around the lake. From October to May Trakai castle is closed on Mondays, only outside visit is possible. December and January Trakai castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, only outside visit is possible.

4.00A knowledgeable tour guide that knew a lot about the history of the sites we visited and was flexible in adjusting the tour schedule to meet our needs. He was an excellent storyteller who had a lot of pride in Lithuania and how much the country has accomplished since the occupation. We enjoyed lunch in a great local restaurant which was able to accommodate an unusual allergy with a delicious meal. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend an enlightening day on a delightful tour.

3.00Our guide was young and quite prepared. However, the information she provided was too general and scarce for a sightseeing tour. Therefore the experience has turned more into a Transport Service. That's too bad.

5.00The story about Paneriai is horrible. I am happy I understand more after this trip. I really feel sorry about the terrible experience and conditions during the Nazis period at Lithuania and the way they killed the Jewish people.

5.00Excellent private guide with great communication skills and clear English who knew how to find the right pace for our family, including teenager, plus recommended a delicious lunch spot in beautiful Trakai and lovely boat ride around the castle. An interesting overview of historical sites close to Vilnus and time in nature while being driven around in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with sufficient narration by a local. Top notch experience!

5.00We had great day trip with Bronius who was our guide and driver for this private tour. We had enough time to visit the three sites. We had a nice boat tour around the Trakai castle. He was very pleasant and a good driver. We felt safe with him. He had great experience! A recommendation for your tour description in Viator. Maybe you could add a time schedule of the day just to give an idea of the itinerary and how long the journey is.

5.00Cyrus was a really great guide and very knowledgeable about the history of his country. We thoroughly enjoyed our jaunt through the ages from medieval castle sites to those in Trakai, and also gaining a better understanding of Lithuania’s difficult 20th century history caught between the Nazis and the Russians. The holocaust site at Paneriai was incredibly sad. Cyrus was happy to drop us off in Uzipis to continue our explorations and was very helpful.
