The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is a sanctuary that provides a home for orphaned and injured orangutans. Borneo Sun Bears, on the other hand, are the world's smallest bear species and also endangered. Visitors can witness these charismatic animals up close and learn about the conservation efforts to protect them.
Additionally, visiting these centers can provide insight into the importance of protecting the habitat of these animals, and how ecotourism can support conservation efforts. By booking a Day Trip to Sepilok Orangutan & Borneo Sun Bear, travelers can not only have an unforgettable experience but also contribute to the preservation of these species and their habitats.

Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre
Visit the Borneon Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) and witness the effort to provide for the care, rehabilitation and release of orphaned and captive sun bears, as well as address the lack of knowledge and awareness of this little-known bear both in Malaysia and internationally. The Malayan sun bear (Helarctos malayanus), found only in south-east Asia, and is the world’s smallest bear species.

The long 6.5 hours winding & imperfect road condition from KK are worth of hassles to visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. They are so cute and pleasant to watch. Shame we couldn’t see the indoor nursery. Highly recommend if you can. There are places to visit along the way namely Kundasang. You’ll be blown away with the numbers of various fruits that are not available in your local supermarkets.

Very good day trip from Rasa Ria Resort to Sandakan. Everything went very smoothly. The agents were very flexible to make everything go as I wished.
