What To Expect

The deserted island of Inishlacken is full of wildlife rugged beauty and some amazing beaches, with Roundstone and the Twelve Bens in the backdrop. It is a truly amazing place. Watch out for more wildlife on the way through the Roundstone bay. And why not pull a lobster pot along the way to watch with excitement what comes over the rail? You can then walk around the island and enjoy the wildlife or just relax on one of the beaches and take in the amazing views.

BEST experience! Damian really made our trip to Ireland special. The island we visited was truly a slice of heaven. Damian’s knowledge of and connection with the land really connected us with it also. It was fun for all ages. My mom (75) had a great time and my boys (10 and 8) will never forget it from the sea-glass to donkeys and the lobster pots! Thank you Damian (and sidekick doggo Max) we are grateful!

Damien is a pure gentleman. Such a good natured and kind person. He looked after us from start to finished on our recent excursion to InisLacken. One of our party is elderly and was quite unsteady but Damien read this situtation well and anticipated all requirements. He had a lovely few hours on the island and would most definitely book Damien again. Thanks so much - Tanya

An exceptional moment: the site is more than beautiful, the lobster succulent, the desert island impressive and the guide/captain as friendly as valuable to describe the whole history of the place. I highly recommend.

Damien is a great boat captain, and his knowledge of the history of the island is vast and interesting. Now occupied only by sheep and three donkeys that Damien added, it’s a beautiful spot - peaceful, quiet, and unspoiled. We enthusiastically recommend making this Deserted Island Private Landing Tour part of your visit to Ireland’s beautiful western coast.

The skipper was careful to warn us that the wind meant there would be waves and spray on the way out, and gave us the option of cancelling. We decided to go ahead, and had no regrets. The scenery is beautiful, and the history very interesting. He was a friendly and informative guide. I recommend this trip - it was a nice experience, even on an indifferent day in early March, and must be glorious in the summer!

Amazing trip with Damien and Max! We had a great day and even caught two mackerel! Inishlacken is the most beautiful place, we had a walk and a picnic before returning to Roundstone. Could not recommend this trip enough.

Damian, our skipper, turned a vey iffy morning (pouring) into a splendid day. He gave us the option of having our lobster lunches here and going to the island by boat tomorrow. We took a chance and headed to the island. The rain stopped and he pulled up on the Lee and we had our fabulous lunch (all local produce and home prepared) on board, washed down with a few glasses of NZ Sauv Blanc. We went out with Damian last summer in 28c and spent a few hours on Inisklaken before he returned for us. Damian is a local and knows every rock in the sea. It’s a very safe boat and he is a great skipper. Couldn’t recommend the experience highly enough,

Had a great local experience with Damian. He showed the Roundstone water perspective culminating in a visit to an island with the best beach we have seen Europe. The day was great so we even had a chilly dip. The local lobsters are a sight behold too.
Not to be missed in Roundstone!

Outstanding time with Damien. This was by far the best part of Roundstone! The island walkabout was exciting, as was the boat ride and Damien's knowledge of the area. The kids enjoyed pulling up some lobster pots, and he had some fishing kit for the kids. They managed to catch a small mackerel which Damien gutted for them. He even let them take turns driving the boat for a bit. We enjoyed our time with him, he was great craic!
