What To Expect
Middenbeemster
The UNESCO reclaimed land above Amsterdam is called the Beemster Polder, this is where we drive through to our first tulip field It is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam (Stelling van Amsterdam), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Beemster Polder, reclaimed from a lake in the early 17th century, showcases a perfect example of Dutch ingenuity in water management.

1.00The tour was good but their customer service was very poor. I left my jacket on the bus and I tried to contact them repeatedly to get it back but I didn't get a response. They should have a lost and found or something in place for such an eventuality. I would have gone to pick it up. Really disappointed.

5.00Mike and Roel were incredibly welcoming, encouraging, and knowledgeable about entire process of tulips/ bulbs life cycle. Most importantly they knew how to find locations during the final days when few were available. Grateful to have even received photo tips and support so that we could have many memories of this special day. Service with a smile and a lot of patience. Who could ask for more? Definitely 10/10! The stop and chance to go into an operating windmill was an added bonus and fun to surprise myself and others when offered chance to climb to the top for an amazing view of the mechanics. Again - so glad to have included this particular trip on our amazing visit to Amsterdam. Thanks Roel and Mike for our safe journey

5.00Roel was an amazing tour guide. Even though it was late in the season and the farmers were already cutting the tulips down, he was able to take us to tulip farms with a beautiful of colors and several rows of flowers intact. It was a truly magical experience. The bus was very comfortable and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour as it was away from the chaos and crowds. We had the entire field to ourselves to take pictures at our leisure. Roel also took many pictures for people and was a great photographer! The lunch was delicious. Don’t be put off by the mustard soup. I had no idea what to expect and it was soooo good. I had two bowls. The bread, meat, and cheeses as well as the pastries were all very tasty. I would go on this tour again in a heartbeat. I thoroughly recommend it. We also met some great people in our tour group. You will be very happy you booked this tour. Thank you to Roel, Mike, and the entire team!

5.00The windmill visit was fun and very informative as well as engaging. We were given the option to climb all the way up in the top of the windmill at our own risk. (we didn’t, but others did!) And of course the tulip fields were beautiful. We had plenty of time to wander and take lots of pictures.

5.00Ruel our guide was a wealth of information, about the tulips and how to get the best pics! What could have been super disappointing turned out ok. Most of the fields were being cut down however we were able to see several varieties. Lunch was superb! Perhaps the best meal we had in Amsterdam. The windmill was interesting.

3.00Only do this tour in mid to late April. This is a tulip farm visit, where they are growing tulips to develop large enough bulbs to grow flowers or sell bulbs. Lunch was good and the windmill visit wondrous. Our tour guide was ok, bus was brand new and very nice. Not my fave tour for the price.
