Mohammed Hamed is an excellent tour guide. He was on time, very attentive, knowledgeable and amicable. I will recommend EMO tours (specially Mohammed) to everyone I know traveling to Egypt. Can’t wait to return so Mohammed can show us more new sights!!

The museum is a must-see! I was overwhelmed with the beauty of it all. Definitely pay extra for the mummy room, and definitely do not miss the King Tut exhibit (especially the mask, but God help you if you try to sneak a photo). Our tour guide, Mahmoud Anwar, is very knowledgable and was great with our 7 year old daughter. I highly recommend him!

I went to the Museum with my tour guide Amr Hasan (who is absolutely wonderful) during a Friday morning. Although the Museum was crowded Amr made sure that he covered a lot of different things inside and he explained each Exhibit we visited in great detail. The Museum is beautiful and I'm looking forward to seeing the new Museum when it opens on a year or two.

What a fun trip to the museum. We are lucky that we had Ola as our guide again. She is such an amazing guide and has so much knowledge to share. Visiting the museum would have not been the same without her. There’s so much to see and unfortunately not all the pieces have descriptions explaining what they are or how everything is connected. The museum can be visited without a guide but it would have not been worth it. we would not have fully appreciated everything we saw. She explained everything and then let us explore anything we wanted to see again after her tour. There are tons of items to see. We were also in between hotels during this tour. She coordinated with the driver to pick us up at our original hotel and be dropped off at our new hotel after the tour. Please note that this museum location will close in the upcoming year or so. A bigger and new museum will open near the Giza Pyramids around that time. Book any tour with Ola if your will be coming to Cairo. She is the best.

The museum was fascinating and I can see why they need the new much larger building. There are so many interesting artefacts that a whole day could be spent there. However we had short time so our guide Abdul made sure we went to the key / special artefacts to make best use of our time. His knowledge and explanation ensured we viewed everything in a logical manner without wasting time. If you want to take pictures of the Tutemkhamen artefacts you will need to pay for permission in advance. No idea how you get this ! Abdul introduced us to traditional Egyptian lunch of Falafel and pickles and sugar cane juice - yummy. He really took care of us and ensured all our needs were met. Great service Thankyou Abdul. I would recommend Abdul as your guide on all the Cairo tours.

I went on this tour with Abdul. Its my 2nd tour with Emo. In both cases I found Emo to be vey professional. Good communication even before the tour. Abdul was very informative and showed me about 9 or so of the more significant objects in the museum. These could have been bypassed without a guide. I stayed longer in the museum after the tour and browsed some of the other items for about an hour . Overall very informative and the highlight was the King Tut exhibit. It was significant because the 5000 objects found included some of his personal items such as jewellery. A personal touch and quite different to the other stone and granite statues and monuments in the museum..

Today I took my final excursion in Egypt before I have to leave the country tomorrow. I saved the best until last. It was my fourth time with EMO tours during my holiday, and this one was the half-day tour to the Egyptian Museum. Once again I had an excellent guide in Ehab Wageh who collected us from our hotel in Giza and took us on a fascinating trip through the history of this ancient land. After visiting so many empty tombs in Luxor, it was great to finally see the incredible wealth of treasure which has survived. The Tutankhamun collection was undoubtedly the highlight, and the solid gold coffin and funeral mask which I had seen several times on the television. It was a very special experience to stand in front of the real thing. Ehab showed us around many of the other rooms in the museum, and he chose the masterpieces for us to see (I had not fully realised quite how big the museum actually is! It is vast) He explained the history of the kings and queens, but was also able to draw or attention to some of the finer artistic features of the objects. He also answered my many questions, as well as allowing us free time to wander around at our leisure. It felt like I learned something today. Finally we were returned back to our hotel by our driver Tolba, who had great patience with negotiating the manic city centre traffic! For my final tour with EMO, this was a great way to finish, and once again the company did not let us down...it was excellent. It was a shame I only had a short visit here in Cairo, but it feels like I have seen a lot.
