Get to know Crete by E-Bike
The beautiful island will present itself to you from a completely different perspective. Crete consists of 85% mountains and thus the e-bike is the most suitable means of transport to travel the island in a sporty, but at the same time, leisurely way. You will drive through the touristically neglected inland with its endless vineyards and olive groves, visit old churches, small chapels and picturesque villages and experience the hospitality of the old and young Cretans up close, accompanied by a local guide.

Stavrakia
Our starting point is Ammoudara beach, west of the city of Heraklion, wherefrom we will head south. After 5 km, we will arrive at the University of Crete and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), where we will change direction and cycle west. After 12km (approximately 40 minutes) and following a route with little traffic, we will reach the village of Stavrakia, located at an altitude of 240m. This will be our first stop since setting off on our trip. While in the village, there are some options for activities, such as going to admire Mount Juktas in the east. We can drink some water and rest there before we start cycling again towards our destination.
Agios Myron
Said destination is the village of Agios Myron, located at an altitude of 440m at the foot of Mount Psiloritis. We will reach it after cycling for 17km (about one hour and 10 minutes). We can take a break there and visit the church and tomb of Saint Myron, one of the first bishops of Crete who lived during the 4th century AC. We can also check out a cave that is close to the temple, where we can find Saint Myron’s famous and miraculous holy water.

It was a wonderful and scenic ride on country roads past olive groves and vineyards, overlooking the beautiful Cretan landscape, up to a lovely hilltop village. Our guide, Aris, did a great job of preparing us to ride and giving us suggestions along the way for shifting gears as we approached the more challenging parts of the excursion. Our group of six loved the time we spent riding with our excellent guide Aris!

Highly recommend that you go for a ride with Iris- great way to see the country side - we stopped in an olive oil pressing plant, helped harvest olives from the trees, went to an old church, had coffee in a small cafe and rode back through orchards.

Adam and his e-bike tour is an experience that I wish every cyclist could have! 6 days through Crete with fantastic tours, sinfully good regional food and a lot of fun make this holiday unforgettable. The family friendliness of Adam and his family gives you a real holiday feeling. The tour is not too difficult, fun is guaranteed and Adam is unique anyway!

Adam was our tour guide for one week. We started off from their house and went to a different direction every single day. He explained many things along the way and took care for any circumstances, we were facing. The locations we stopped were very local and we got welcomed by the waiter or host always heart-warming and friendly. Both thumbs up and full recommendation for bike fans.
