• Exceptional Ancestral Tour

  My partner and I had a lovely experience working with Nikki. Nikki was incredibly professional, thorough and passionate about helping us explore my paternal family’s history. Prior to our arrival she conducted thorough research which was both diligent and accurate and collaborated with local researchers and librarians to extract this information for us. Upon arrival on the island, her and her husband Nigel greeted us with wonderful hospitality in their own home and then provided us with an unforgettable day of a very specialized and personalized tour of my ancestral family homes, churches, workplace and communities. Although my great grandfather emigrated to canada from the isle of man in 1907 she was able to trace back multiple generations of his ancestry and obtain documents and take us to all the places these people lived, worked and died and made these stories come alive. Nikki also provided us with extensive documents, records and photographs in a thoughtfully organized binder that I will cherish forever. She further connected me with family members we still had on the island and other researchers who could support us with continuing our genealogical journey. Above all that, her and her partner, Nigel not only provided us with wonderful hospitality, guidance, and laughs during our visit. They also a acted as a wealth of knowledge and a approachable point of contact for us when we needed some direction and support during our trip (like when we wanted to repair some damage to an ancestral grave) . They went above and beyond their commitments and made us feel welcome and supported if we needed anything during our visit. I would highly recommend using both Nikki and Nigel for the genealogical research and for their hospitality, tours and we plan on returning to the Isle of Man in the next year to continue both of these with this wonderful couple. Their prices were very reasonable and well worth every pound as they were incredibly generous with their time and home. • Wonderful stay at Albany House and tours with Nigel and Nikki

  The Albany house in Peel IOM was a wonderful place to stay for myself, my brother and our wives. The home was cozy and comfortable. The stay included an excellent cooked to order breakfast. Nigel and Nikki Sperring were incredibly accommodating and fun to tour with. My brother and I have Manx ancestry and took the ancestry tour with Nikki. She did an incredible amount of work prior to our stay, then took us to churches and gravesites where ancestors worshipped, were married, and buried. She also found 2 homes and a farm site where our great great grandparents lived! We also toured with Nigel the southern island for historic and scenic sites. I would say both Nigel and Nikki were welcoming, warm, and witty. Also very informative. Nikki and Nigel have separate tour companies. You can hire for tours even if not staying at Albany House.   Unforgettable, the whole experience, Their B&B was amazing, cosy, warm and the best breakfast of our trip. Ancestor tour awesome. Nikki gave me so much. more than expected. She helped me make sense of it all and uncover parts of my research I had missed. The local history she has made the whole trip so much more personal to our family history. Thank you Nikki and Nigel, We will be back to do this again for sure.

  My wife, daughter, and I are just preparing to leave Isle of Man. We have been staying at the Albany house curated by Nikki Sperring. We have come to visit areas on the Isle where my wife’s ancestors came from and Nikki has gone way above and beyond helping us search out those ancestors, chauffeuring us to their grave sites, and finding information about them in the different church books. We are leaving having had one of the most enjoyable traveling experiences we have ever had but also having made a new friend in Nikki.

  Nigel and Nikki were wonderful. They gave us a guided tour of the churches and graveyards where some of my ancestors were married and buried. In addition, Nikki did a most professional job researching my lineage on the Isle of Man. Nigel pointed out many interesting places along the route. We enjoyed a lovely lunch together as well.   In September 2023 we contacted Nikki in regard to finding out about our ancestors from the Isle of Man. Armed only with our grandfather's name and some old family photos she was able to trace our history back to 1766 and even introduce us to some family members. Who we meet for the first time on our Manx Ancestors Tour on the Isle of Man in July 2024. We had an exceptional day with Nikki, she collected us from our hotel and drove us all around the country side showing us the places where some of our ancestors lived, went to school, worked, even married and of course where buried. The day finished with meeting our new found family members and a folder filled with genealogical material sourced by Nikki. It was wonderful experience!

  If you want to explore your ancestry and the Isle of Man, then you need to look no further than Nikki and Nigel who operate "Discover your Manx Ancestors". They are the best in their profession. Nikki is very qualified in her knowledge of tracing and finding your ancestors and confirming and adding to your family tree on the Isle of Man. She was extremely helpful with suggestions. Also, she is very responsive to questions and communication. They located and drove us to the Andreas area and the gravesites and the original farm of our ancestors. Nigel was the best tour guide, driver, commentator and historian on the Isle of Man. There just isn't enough space to share all they did to accommodate our wishes. They both went above and beyond in making our trip a once in a lifetime adventure. Book with the utmost confidence.

  This tour was absolutely phenomenal. A lot of research went into this tour and Nikki and Nigel orchestrated this trip so we could experience and see as much as we possibly could. We are truly grateful to have gotten this once in a lifetime opportunity to see where our family came from.   I had an amazing tour visiting the homes and resting places of so many of my ancestors, The job that Nicki and Nigel did was incredible, such dedication and devotion to creating a once in a lifetime experience.   This was such an exciting, emotional day for me - visiting the places my ancestors lived and worked, getting private access to art in the museum that my family had created, private access to several churches that were important to my family and touching my great-great-grandparents’ headstone, among other things. It connected and touched me in ways I was not expecting, and was truly moving. Nikki’s research and connections, along with Nigel’s entertaining and endearing demeanor ferried us along through hundreds of years. It was a joyful day, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
