  • The UNhappiest place on earth

Well, let's see.... Half the good rides were shut down half the time, so the lines were insane on a "light" day. So you go to another ride and wait in line for 45 minutes and right when you're about to enter, that shuts down. Stand in line for 30 minutes to order drinks and some food. Now stand in line to pick up drinks. Now go across the way to stand in line to pickup food. So you realize the only way you're getting on the rides is to buy an additional "lightning pass". You fall into the sunk cost fallacy and buy it. But after you buy it, you learn its very limited value as you have to schedule the rides 2 hours in advance. You go to buy an ice cream but they tell you that you have to order online. "Here, I'm trying to give you my money, but you're making it difficult". Plan on riding maybe three exciting rides and spending 90% of your time waiting in line. Disney feels like a CULT and at $600 for the day (2 people), I just don't see the value.

  • Best family day out ever!

Best family day out ever! The atmosphere was amazing — most people were dressed in Disney themes, everyone was happy, and the staff were brilliant. Coming from Australia, you’ll definitely want to upgrade to the Lightning Pass to get the park done in one day. The professional photos included with the pass were perfect and made it even more memorable.

  • Fun Attractions, Staff Not Very Friendly

Attractions were great, a couple were not operational but overall we got on the rides quickly, food was average and overpriced. We stayed from 8:30am to about 6:30pm and did 14 attractions/experiences. Some staff members were not particularly happy and a professional photographer near the castle was a bit rude taking pictures as we and many other guests were taking photos and in his shots since the are no barriers marked for him to be doing his professional shots which isn't the fault of the guests and the professional photographers should understand that before opening their mouths. But overall the park itself was great and parking was easy to access

  • The people are horrible at Disneyland

Disneyland is officially ghetto. The people are rude and insecure. Way too many people spend their money on going to this park to have less than mediocre experiences. The prices keep raising but it’s not pushing out the insecure or hateful people. Can’t even enjoy a day at Disney without getting laughed at or having some bitter person say some rude crap. Body shaming is at an all time high. I don’t remember Disney being like this in the past let alone California. Seems like the environment is losing its touch. The food was alright. The rides were decent and the shows were great but how can you enjoy it with hatful bitter people projecting themselves on to you. Hopefully if I ever go again my family and I get left alone to ride the rides and enjoy ourselves in peace.

It’s not what it was when I was a kid. I don’t remember exorbitant costs, massive crowds and wildly expensive food / souvenirs but now that’s what you get. This place is so damn crowded to me. We chose first week of February because it’s supposed to be a very slow week and still I was absolutely shocked by the amount of people there. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced so many people around me. I genuinely cannot imagine having not gone on a so called slow week! Despite the crowds we went on all the rides we wanted to and didn’t wait more than 15 min in a line BUT it was because we paid for lightning lane multi pass AND I had researched how to best use the system and avoid lines. If you go during a busy time, don’t get lightning lane, and don’t know how to game the system with lightning lane, forget it. I would never come to this park without lightning lane. The best strategy is to check a crowd calendar online and try to pick a slow week. Then you need to be at the park so you can go through the gates at 7:30 and wait until they drop the rope to the park at 8. Both days we did that and when the rope dropped we ran immediately to Peter Pan (otherwise you’ll never get on that ride without a huge wait) and we were able to walk on the ride. We then took care of other rides in Fantasy Land while the crowds were at a minimum. Meanwhile book your first lightning lane the second you get in the park at 7:30 - don’t worry about doing the ride; just keep modifying the time until you’re ready to do it. Book another LL as soon as you are able to. You should stack LLs for the most popular and busy rides for later in the afternoon and get rides that don’t have LL (there are a lot of them) done in the less busy morning. Don’t waste a LL - you can only use one LL per ride with the multi pass. So if you know you want to do a ride twice and the wait is like 10 min you’re better off waiting in the line and saving your LL pass for later.

Disneyland never disappoints but lines were long at a slow time of year due to many major attractions being closed for refurbishment. Ticket transaction through Viator was excellent.

I decided to take my mom, her friend, and my significant other to Disneyland. My mom had always wanted to go back, and being in her late 60's, I wanted her to have that chance. I paid for 3-day hopper park passes for the 70th anniversary, and it was extremely disappointing—cold food, stale popcorn, and an overwhelming smell of sewer from the water rides. The attendants were rude and not helpful in helping us navigate the ride entrances for ADA. I had a cashier who yelled at my mom when she asked about her being able to check out. I had to call a manager over to deal with the problem. The food was atrocious, and I am not sure how you can end up with stale popcorn when it was supposed to be "freshly popped"; yet we did! The Pirates of the Caribbean ride no longer splashes you. I was so disappointed that they literally took all of the children's rides out, so my mom and I were only able to ride "the Teacups" and "Pooh's Corner." Alice's ride was down, Pinocchio was down, Peter Pan had a weird jerk to it, and Toad's Wild Ride felt like whiplash, which broke down halfway through. I spent $3800 coming from Las Vegas, Nevada, on gas, a hotel room (3 nights), park tickets, park food, and Merchandise. I couldn't buy any of the collectible containers because they were for "platinum pass key holders." Such a disappointment, Disneyland!

  • Overpriced for the Size and Experience

    Teaching with M,,Jan 23, 2026

Disneyland was okay, but overall it did not live up to expectations. Compared to Disney World, this is a much smaller park, yet the price is very similar. You can walk around the park quite quickly, and it felt small for what you are paying. The rides were fine but nothing that really stood out. There were no shows during our visit, and the parade only featured a small number of characters, which was disappointing for a Disney park. Food was also very expensive, even by Disney standards. Paying $21 for an ice cream sundae felt excessive and added to the feeling that the park is overpriced for what it offers. Overall, it was not a bad experience, but for the cost and the limited size and entertainment, it did not feel worth it and is why I have given it two stars.

Disneyland feels more stressful than fun now. Booking rides, dining, and Lightning Lanes keeps you tied to the tedious process, and staff often seem short-tempered or disengaged. Paid upgrades and constant rule changes make the experience feel like a money grab. For me, the magic has faded.
