If you're not sure if you should do this - DO IT. We're always looking for unique experiences on our travels and this hit the spot. A chance to flex your creative muscles and create your own souvenir! I'm terms of the specifics - Mel had great tools and even helped me with a) getting the thing cut open, b) assisting me with my vision/art, and c) gave practical advice on how to do things. If you have a car it would be easier but I'm sure a taxi would take you there. The bonus is the beauty spot - isolated, quiet, and cool. We took a lil siesta on the beach afterwards and then went for a swim!

What a fabulous way to spend an hour and a half at a secluded, "locals only" beach. Mel and her partner were such fantastic guides for us.And we loved the craft. Highly recommend! Worth the $25ish USD dollar cab ride each way from Harbor Club in Rodney Bay.

This is a very unique tour. Not as well known, but very fun. It is held at a smaller beach called Trouya Beach. The couple that run this activity are very nice and talented. They let us pick out a calabash fruit, explained how the locals use the fruit and then showed us how to open and clean it out. They helped us decorate the bowls to keep as a souvenir. We had our ideas on how we wanted to decorate the shells, but it takes a bit of skill. Luckily they are talented tattoo artists and helped us bring our ideas to fruition.

This was such a fun experience and having it on the beach made it even more special! The guides were fantastic! Super patient and kind, even when I arrived a few minutes late. It’s a quick but memorable activity that I’d definitely recommend. And the sunset? The perfect cherry on top!

This was a very unique experience. We didn't really know what it was all about other than carving on a Calabash shell. We arrived at a beautiful beach and were greeted. We were shown a number of calabash fruits to choose from. You basically saw it in half, empty out the meat from the inside and then you carve whatever you want on the outside of the shells. It was a very fun excursion. Just something different from most everything else there is to on the island. It created a nice souvenir that you did yourself.

We had a blast creating our personal Calabash souvenirs. The hosts were so kind and helpful and fun 🤩. My Son was bummed he ran out of time ⌛️ because he went after it will all the intricate designs he was attempting to pull off. So glad we did this activity and we highly recommend it.

This was the most amazing experience. Mostly private beach nestled far away from the hustle and bustle of the public beaches. Mel and Ekie were fantastic hosts and made us the best lunch we had all week. Breadfruit cooked in a bonfire, veggies, conch, homemade fruit juice from their trees, and more! We carved our own bowls out of the calabash fruit-I much prefer this type of souvenir than the plastic stuff you get in the stores. Awesome experience!

A one of a kind! Such a wonderful and unique experience. Mel and Ekie are kind, talented and so knowledgeable. They know so much about the calabash fruit and the island. You couldn't have been in a better location, a stunning beach with no one else on it along with great company and a fun activity. The vibes were unmatched! We had so much fun and got to take home a personalised calabash bowl which will last a life time. We can't recommend this enough to any one coming to the island will definitely book again if we come back to St Lucia.
