Souq Waqif

Souq Waqif (Arabic: Sūq Wāqif, "the standing market") is a marketplace (souq) in Doha, in the state of Qatar. The souq sells traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. It is also home to restaurants and Shisha lounges. The original building dates back at least from the 20th Century in a traditional Qatari architectural style. It was renovated in 2006. The souq was founded at least a century ago in proximity of the dry river bed known as Wadi Musheireb. It was a gathering place where Bedouins and locals would trade a variety of goods, primarily livestock goods. The Souq Waqif is considered as a tourist attraction within Doha.

Katara Cultural Village

Katara is a cultural village in Doha, Qatar. It is located on the eastern coast between West Bay and the Pearl."Katara" was the historical name used for Qatar prior to the 18th century. It was soft-opened in October 2010 during the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF), an event that it has hosted ever since. Katara has an open amphitheater, an opera house, a multi-purpose cinema, a multi-purpose conference hall, a beach, and a souq.A museum showcasing the country's maritime heritage was opened in November 2015.

Great experience, Mr. Nawaz was very knowledgeable and shares a lot of stories and information. Fun and educational. highly recommended if you have long layover in the afternoon going into the night.

Mr Nawaz is super friendly and sweet and gave us a detailed tour of Doha at night. He answered all our questions and allowed us to take pictures and videos of everywhere we went to. He’s super sweet and friendly.

Excellent tour! We had a short 24 hour stop over and found this was the best way to experience so much of the city on limited time. Zubair was our guide and was absolutely fantastic, relaxed and welcoming and provided so much local knowledge. Zubair took us to so many different areas and was an excellent photographer ensuring we had captured these moments to look back on, thank you so much Zubair - highly recommend this tour and guide!

Zubair showed us Doha city in 4 hours! He picked us up from the cruise terminal and then drove us around the beautiful city of Doha. He walked us through the markets and took pictures of us at every stop. We had a fantastic time. He dropped us off at the airport with time to spare! Thank you.
