Kamberg Nature Reserve
Our destination is the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Drakensberg mountain range. The Kamberg Nature Reserve was created in 1951 because of it its unique natural beauty, wildlife and historical cave rock sites. The reserve has over 6200 hectors of rolling mountains and deep valleys with an extensive network of hikes and trails. The Walk to the Caves Rock Art Site is over 60 minutes in length from the camp and requires an average level of fitness to complete. The natural landscape has many rock shelters, containing San rock paintings. These were created by the San people over a period of at least 4000 years. The rock paintings are outstanding in quality and diversity representing the spiritual life of the San people who no longer live in the region.

The day was full of experiences. Architecture, nature, hiking, waterfall, museum, history and ancient art - very varied program. You will be pleasantly tired by the end of the day and say 'It was worth doing it'. Not a lazy day:-). You go back 4 000 years in time... The cave paintings were the highlights of the day. Sotiris, our guide was helpful, informative and provided a pleasant day for us. We have good memories. Recommended.

Great, interesting. It's a pretty demanding one and a half hour climb up to the rock paintings, but you can go at your own pace. The area was pretty brown because it was almost winter, but that valley is very beautiful with green grass and flowers in the summertime.

A day tour with Fortune, who is very nice. Prepare for a long drive around 3.5hr to the mountain, but worthwhile. It is better to have the game pass with guide, so that you can go to the top and get some instructions on plants and culture. The museum at Mandela Capture site is beyond expectation, with clear history of ANC and Mandela, etc.

This tour is an amazing experience from start to finish! Our guide, Thami, is polite, warm, and enthusiastic. He arrives early for pick-up and provides detailed explanations at every stop. What stands out the most is his respectful and patient approach—he doesn’t ask personal questions and makes sure everyone feels comfortable throughout the journey without hesitation in providing assistance. The itinerary is well-planned, with a smooth flow between sites and well-timed stops. Even on weekends, there are no issues with site closures, making the trip hassle-free. This tour is highly recommended for history and nature lovers, offering a perfect blend of cultural significance and breathtaking landscapes. However, be prepared for nearly three hours of hiking in total.

Collected promptly by our tour guide and driver Bafana After a drive of about 3 hours with a stop on the way arrived at Kamberg Rock Art Centre in Drackensburg Mountains Hike took about 1 1/2 and you need to have a good fitness level as it is rocky and steep in places and the same way down Totally worth it for the rewards of the most stunning well preserved San people Rock Art On the way back visited the Nelson Mandela capture site Well worth the visit Interesting and well presented information Looked after throughout by our tour guide Bafana

The views were amazing and the guides took really good care of as a single female traveler and on the elderly side. I would thoroughly recommend this company and their guides.

I had such a fantastic day travelling with Nduduzo Nene. This tour was the perfect mix of nature, history and inspiration. Nduduzo is kind and funny. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. I am very grateful to have had this opportunity.

Terry had spontaneous time for us. We had a wonderful day in the Drakensberg mountains and also made a stop at Nelson Mandela Monument and Howick Falls. We have received a lot of valuable information. Food was provided during the excursion. Would definitely come back!
