What To Expect
Temple Bar
We start off in the centre of Temple Bar and also loop back through another part, a bit later on in the tour. We'll give you a bit of history about one of Dublin's famous cultural centres, as well as a few of our favourite places to visit in your time here.
Dublin Castle
From Viking origins, through conquest and occupation, all the way to Ireland's hard-fought for independence, Dublin Castle has always been close to the centre of it all. We'll explore the grounds of this famous old complex, bringing you through the role it has played in Irish History, some of the famous characters who have frequented the place over the centuries and also point out some of its lesser-spotted curiosities

3.00Our guide Barry was excellent. Very well informed, entertaining and very conscientious. We hung on his every word. My complaint is that the walking tour only went for two hours. That is way too short a time….. and I think it should go for 3 hours to provide a satisfactory introduction to Dublin. For such a fascinating city, I was left feeling short-changed and would happy pay and take a longer and more comprehensive walking tour.

5.00We did the free tour version where you take the tour and then give the guide according to the value you feel you received. Our guide David was fantastic. He spoke loudly and clearly and shared and encyclopedic knowledge of the history, literature, politics and musical sides of the city. He weaves stories, annecdotes, and obscure facts into a delightful narrative. We have taken well over 15 free walking tours around Europe and I would say this was one of the best.

5.00An excellent tour through Dublin’s past. Our guide was superb; knowledgeable, witty and informative. Keith you were one one of the high points of our trip to Dublin, and I would recommend your tour to anyone (with the possible exception of one family from Wisconsin). Not a bad singing voice too!
