Dubrovnik Walking Tours
Our Game of Thrones tours starts next to the Large Onofrio's Fountain inside the Old Town (next to the Hard Rock Cafe) where you will meet our representative holding a red umbrella with Dubrovnik Walking Tours sign. After group assembles our guide will introduce him/herself and off we go to a 2hour adventure visiting places from our favorite TV show.
Pile Gate
From the meeting point we start our walk towards the West entrance to the Old Town; Pile Gate. Here we will look at some of the scenes from Season 2 & 3. Namely, scenes when the royal procession including King Joffrey is subjected to the jeers of the starving crowds. Joffrey ordering his outnumbered personal guard to execute the entire crowd, sparking off a city riot and the return of Jaime Lannister to the city with Brienne of Tarth. No one from the crowd recognizes Jaime while he slips into the city incognito.

Our tour guide was probably the worst. She spoke more about her sister and her being extras in the Game of Thrones. Other tour guides held a sign to allow the large group to keep up in the large crowds but we had a hard time locating her amongst the crowd of people and other tourists groups. We didn’t have an opportunity to take pictures next to the movie scenes but she sure had pictures of her and her sister on the movie set.

Edi was a fantastic guide. He incorporated scene descriptions and settings, history - past and more recent, and all kinds of fun facts about Dubrovnik.

Loved it, the thunderstorm made it feel more real as we moved around the various places of interest. We did get stuck at the Red Keep due to lightening and it also flooded up there while we were there. Our tour guide Marina was very knowledgeable and involved everyone in the group. Loved the free picture sitting in the throne at the end of the tour!

Look, I came to this Game of Thrones walking tour in Dubrovnik fully expecting a tourist trap, a few half-hearted “This was King’s Landing” lines, and maybe a plastic sword. What I got instead? A guide who knows Westeros better than GRRM, views that made me audibly gasp (yes, me), and enough behind-the-scenes tea to make even Varys sweat. Our guide wasn’t just reciting facts — they were throwing shade, cracking jokes, and roasting bad character decisions like it was a reunion episode. And yes, they brought an iPad with scene comparisons. Yes, I judged. And yes, I was completely obsessed by the second stop. The walk is no joke (lots of steps — it is Dubrovnik), but if you can handle a bit of a climb and a lot of nerding out, you’re in for a treat. Just don’t wear flip-flops unless you want to do your own walk of shame. By the end, I was seriously considering bending the knee.
