What To Expect

Karya

The tour starts in Karya, the main mountain village in Lefkada. Not long after setting off, you’ll leave the village behind and start climbing along quiet, winding roads with amazing views over Karya and the surrounding landscape. We’ll take a break at a great viewpoint to snap some photos and give you a quick rundown of what you’re looking at.

After riding along quiet mountain roads and gradually making our way up toward the island’s interior, we’ll pass through scenic hills dotted with hundreds of old dry-stone terraces—traces of a time when the land was carefully cultivated. It’s a peaceful and beautiful area that gives a real sense of the island’s history. From there, we head to Ammokampos (“sand fields”), a sand quarry tucked at the base of a remote mountain. The scenery here shifts completely—suddenly you’re in a wide, open space that feels almost alien compared to the rest of the island. It’s a surprising and memorable spot that really stands out from the rest of the ride.

A brilliant way to experience the wonderful scenery. We hired 4 e-bikes and had a glorious trip to the roof of the island. You’re lined up with google maps to follow a truly spectacular route to the peak at a little church with amazing views. We stopped at a lovely restaurant for a snack lunch. The bikes are very high quality and there was a great baby seat for our 9 month old. Nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend.

We have as family visited Lefkada 5 times. We have always been hiking around the island - by car. This time we had to try a ride on E-bike for the first time. We were greeted by Antonio. Extremely professional and very trustworthy. We got made a route based on our wishes about the surroundings and difficulty. Antonio helped put the route into my phone and also gave us a powerbank with as security. He accompanied us very well on the way - just a short walk. That was really nice. The tour on E-bike was fantastic and took us to places that showed us the island from a completely different side. A great experience for all of us. We'll be back.

Excellent tourguide and bike rental. Antonio is very friendly and helpful!! The e-mtb bikes are in almost new conditions, for safety you get spare-tires and tools. We did a self guide tour (with two kids) and Antonio went with us from the start to see if we were all comfortabel and ready to cycle on the bikes. Amazone views and challenging gravel tracks on our way, enjoyed a lot of the ride. Extra was the lunchtip in Eglouvi, we had a great meal.

Beautiful tour of a lesser known part of the island of Lefkada led by Antonio .. very prepared both in cycling and in telling the places visited. I was alone and it was very kind of him to put me in a small group with whom it was nice to ride in company. I recommend it to all those who want to admire breathtaking views from heights easily accessible by ebike on low-traffic roads.

It was a perfect organised Tour. The bike was really easy to ride and the tour was easy to handle. Antonio showed us places with the best view over the isle and He told us a lot about the history of Lefkada. It was a great tour I can totally recommend.

We had driven in to Karya to visit and sightsee and stopped by Antonio’s shop - just steps from the central square - to discuss a possible tour. He explained what we might like and quoted a very reasonable price. There were five us on the tour that morning and Antonio showed us how to use our bikes and have a description of the tour he had in mind. We started up the mountain and kept going to the highest peak on the island, with Antonio checking in regularly with all the riders to ensure the bikes were OK as we adjusted to the terrain. The views at each stop were spectacular and Antonio pointed out each village below us while explaining the history of the island. The tour was over 4 hours long and included stops at the abandoned 1950s US radar station, a beautiful old church, a 500-year old monastery and a community grape presser. While most of the tour took us on roadways, there was very little traffic to worry about. On a particularly hairy descent from the old church, he took the time to walk us through how best to navigate the rutted roadway. Antonio is a pleasant, friendly and easy going guide. You can also do self guided or solo rides, but either way you’ll miss out on much of the information he shared with us.

Great experience for all levels! Very much focused on the hidden gems in nature, quaint villages and lovely food stops. Antonio is an amazing guide. Fluent in English, Italian , Greek and even a little Afrikaans. Very communicative friendly and looks what fits the group best. Can highly recommend this! The ebikes are easy to use and well maintained and it makes it so easy to ride on all terrains even if you are a beginner.

Myself & 2 sons (56, 24 & 18) met Antonio at his shop (cool old petrol station that he has renovated) in Karya. Antonio provided water & gloves & the 3 e-bikes were already set up based on our height measurements. We cycled for over 3hrs & the e-bikes make the ascent much easier if required. We visited some amazing local beauty spots with lots of photo opportunities including a disused US radar base. Antonio’s knowledge of the local area/history is fascinating & he can adjust the adventure based on group needs. In addition to the cycling we made time for sufficient water stops & snacks at a local village cafe & overall we never felt rushed. It was a an unbelievable experience & we would highly recommend.

Booking the bikes was easy via email. The bikes are well-maintained and well-suited for the routes. Antonio was extremely helpful with setting up the gear and making sure the bikes were in good and safe condition. There are several route options, and Antonio knows them well. A very pleasant experience — I recommend setting aside at least two or three days for cycling, there’s plenty to see!

One of the most enjoyable activities during our vacation. The route was incredibly beautiful and perfectly laid out by the owner. The route was easy to follow by phone. There were some nice stops, and the bikes were in perfect condition. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
