Each workshop can be tailored to the interests of the participants, feel free to pick and choose any topics from the menu of workshops and Maya will weave it in. Every foraging workshop starts with a brief talk on safe mushroom foraging practices--both for you and the ecosystem. Then as we walk and find mushrooms we'll learn about the incredible world of fungal ecology, including info on when and where to find various types of mushrooms. We will cover to identify certain trees, and the mushrooms that grow on or with them. When we find edible mushrooms, we'll discuss how to identify them and what features distinguish them from any poisonous look alikes. We'll also discuss how to prepare them, and their nutritional and medicinal qualities.
