Set off on an adventure into the total darkness of the Arctic fjords and Polar nights. We depart Tromsø and set sail to the place where the best weather conditions for the night have been predicted. This can be towards the areas of Kvaløyvågen or Ramfjorden or along the southern part of Kvaløya. The crew will work together and keep their eyes out for clear skies or a gap in the clouds. While we wait for the northern lights to appear, you can stay warm and comfortable in our heated lounges.
Throughout the evening our guides will share their knowledge and personal stories of the Northern Lights. From mythical stories from around the world to the scientific explanation of the Northern Lights. When we get lucky to spot the Northern Lights, we can put on our warm clothes and go outside to admire lady Aurora in the night sky. Some nights she shines bright in the sky and dances with different colours, while on other nights she's a bit shy and is only faintly visible or not visible at all.

Took this cruise as a last ditch opportunity to check out the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and nothing was visible. The boat and crew were great- explaining everything and trying their best to get us somewhere to see the lights. My only gripe would be that the soup included in a weird veggie one vs a standard chicken noodle or something more common. The cookies were also hard as rocks.

This trip was great. The crew was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was like being invited to spend an evening on a friend’s boat. They kept an eye out for the aurora and the captain found some holes in the clouds on a snowy evening. We saw very fine aurora and had an excellent and very Norwegian dinner. Highly recommended.

Had the weather been good would have given 5 stars. Unfortunately there were high winds and snow on the night we cruised and as result didn’t cruise as such. We were offered a full refund with no meal or 50% refund with meal. We chose to stay on board end enjoy the meal. If you’re not a fish eater the vegetarian option was delicious. Shame about the weather but that is out of everyone’s control and we enjoyed the night anyway.

Even if we only saw a single Northern Lights, the ride was a great experience! The ship is great, wonderfully quiet, no diesel stench, you glide calmly through the night. The tour guide was very sympathetic and dedicated, conveyed many stories, background and facts. The whole crew was great. And also the vegetarian soup was very delicious and just the thing after the aurora sighting. Highly recommended!

We had ideal weather for our Electric Northern Lights cruise with Brim Explorer. The sky was clear and the water calm. All the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and the lights put on a good show for us.

To be fair to the trip there was a snow storm which meant visibility was poor, so consider this when reading my review. However I was made aware that coach trips to see the northern lights offered a refund before getting on the coach on the basis that there was zero chance of seeing anything, which people accepted and were happy with the honesty. The crew did say they hoped we had our expectations set as low due to the weather. The staff were all very friendly and presented many facts about the local area and northern lights, we can't fault the staff. The boat was nice and warm, the toilets clean and plenty of seating. There is a bar on board which was needed Overall we were bored, three hours of boredom to be precise. I am sure if you knew you had a hope of seeing something it would be fun waiting but the fact we were told getting on that there was no chance it was just boring. There was no offer either of coming back another day for free. I know there is no guarantee however they should of offered the option of a refund up front and leave it to the individual choice To be clear the staff and boat are very nice - its the policy of the trip I didn't like If the weather is ok then book this trip

Absolutely the best trip so far ! We had to google the meeting point as it wasn't clear on trip advisor as it points to a carpark but it's actual the port edge outside the hotel listed. We waited in a queue and were directed to our boat. It was warm comfortable and drinks were on tap, we had hot chocolate but didnt sample the free soup but that was just because we weren't hungry it was served in bowls and looked lovley. We went up to the second dec and opened the door to the wonderful view. We were in and out until someone spotted the lights. They were hard to spot with the naked eye, but I managed to take lots of pictures on the night mood with no flash. It was absolutely amazing cold and we'll mindblowing we also had lots of information given to us during the trip and the guide who was English but lives in Norway was happy helpful and knew her stuff. I can't recommend this trip enough. The only disappointment was other people not paying attention i both enjoyed and felt very lucky to be there

The ship was having technical difficulties and the crew was diligently working on the issue. Even after an hour, the crew could not fix the issue and gave us an option to get a refund. I chose refund. The problem is if we had been intimated earlier, I would not have made the 30 minute journey to Tromso and wait the same time in the cold to take this tour. It is pretty cold to wait outside in the Tromso weather. From many previous experiences, such problems do not get fixed in time. The organizers of this tour should keep the conveniences of the passengers in mind too. Getting a refund was not worth the effort spent to take this tour.

The boat is small, with the interior tightest. During the tour we did not wear life-saving vest (I do not know if wearing them is not an obligation here, but I found strange). Guides are attentive and friendly. We were able to see the lights of Aurora. The waves swing the boat, which can make some people worry. Overall, it's a good walk.
