East Meon
Located a quarter of an hour from Petersfield and nestled in a valley surrounded by green hills, East Meon is the first stop on our tour and one of the most picturesque villages in the South Downs National Park. It is crossed by the River Meon and is full of charming thatched cottages, medieval houses and buildings that belonged to the various lords who over the centuries have claimed dominion over this area of Hampshire. Its ancient stone church is built on a hill and offers a wonderful view over the whole village. Definitely a great way to start our tour before heading towards Upper Farringdon along the scenic road that passes through the beautiful countryside of the South Downs National Park and passes through many other enchanted villages.
Less known than the other two villages but no less charming, Upper Farringdon is a hidden gem and is one of my favourite villages because it has some of the most beautiful cottages in the whole area. Again, I will take you to discover this enchanting reality, providing you with many anecdotes about local life and guiding you to discover its most picturesque views, which are perfect for a killer photo to post on your social channels! At the end of the visit, we will stop for lunch at The Rose & Crown, the village pub. The Rose & Crown the typical English country pub with oak beams in the ceiling, wood panelling on the walls and a romantic red brick fireplace.

Accompanied by the talented and very nice Laura, I particularly enjoyed the breaks at the Pub and the TEA room. I also visited her beautiful cottage.

I especially want to share the experience that my husband and I had with the tour “Enchanted Villages of Southern England” because it was really special from all points of view, the enchanting villages visited and the sympathy, courtesy and professionalism of Laura who accompanied us to discover unique places and atmospheres, everything organized perfectly. Laura is a person who knows very well the history and traditions of the places visited and tells you with the passion of those who live there and love them. Departed yesterday from the village of Chawton (a real pearl) and already we miss its atmosphere and its colors and we miss Laura. Absolutely recommended.

I joined this tour with my friend Elena and I can say that it was a truly magical experience. Laura is extremely passionate and competent, so much so that she moved from Italy to live in the countryside of the south of England. The tour starts in the morning with pick-up at Alton station, and then starts visiting the picturesque villages of East Meon, Upper Farringdon and Chawton. Lunch is excluded but can be done at The Rose & Crown pub in Chawton village where Jane Austen's house is also located, open to the public. Entrance to the house is included, then you can enjoy a delicious cream tea in Chawton’s cafeteria. Laura’s love and passion can be felt in her stories and detailed and engaging explanations. I highly recommend this tour to those who love the English countryside and literature, it is a truly unique experience!

A wonderful tour not only for the beauty of the places, the peace and harmony they give, but also for the added value of Laura's dear presence that guides us to discover countless things that captivate the heart and spirit. The tour is organized very well, you travel comfortably along beautiful tree-lined streets and visits to the places literally kidnap the heart! It was all a flowering of beautiful emotions surrounded by the natural scents of magnificent flowers bloomed in their wonderful colors in front of the historic cottages witnesses of a time that seems to have stopped there. Excellent also lunch in the pub, cream tea in the tea room in front of Jane Austen's house and the visit there where the great writer made her masterpieces. p.s.was my first trip alone and abroad but I won every uncertainty and it was definitely 'worth it'.

The tour was wonderful. I spent a wonderful day walking around these lovely villages. Laura is very good , very prepared told us an infinite number of things and made us feel for a day as if we were residents of Chawton! He opened the doors of his beautiful home to us. I hope he will organize more tours because I want to definitely come back.

For those looking for an emotional experience and not just a guided tour; through Laura's eyes we saw the sun despite the clouds and rain. During the full-day tour, he shared with us his enthusiasm for living these places and belonging to a small community by telling us anecdotes and life stories.
