Chamarel 7 Coloured Earth Geopark is Mauritius' most iconic attractions!

Chamarel Waterfalls
Undoubtedly the tallest single-drop waterfall in Mauritius at about 100m high, the Chamarel Waterfall is a striking piece of nature standing amid dense vegetation. Travelers will have a front-row view of this wonder of nature and will be able to take pictures from two viewpoints.
Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark
The undulating strips of multi-coloured sand that settle in different layers are one of the most photographed and visited sights on the island. They sit in an open clearing whose lower edge is skirted by an endemic plant garden highlighting the natural heritage of Mauritius. Open all year round the Geopark is a must-see attraction for curious minds of all ages. Among other things, there is also a fun Tortoise Park and a Souvenir Shop offering an array of memorabilia, including local products from Chamarel while the Coffee shop is a happy café experience.

A Unique and Impressive Natural Wonder

5.00We were initially unsure whether to visit the Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark after hearing mixed reviews, but we’re really glad we did. It’s a fascinating natural site, and the colours in the sand are genuinely striking and unlike anything we have ever seen. We also enjoyed seeing the tortoise breeding programme, which was a lovely bonus and added an interesting conservation aspect to the visit. Overall, it’s an impressive and unique attraction that we would definitely recommend. While we wouldn’t necessarily return, it’s absolutely worth visiting at least once when in Mauritius.

4.00You need a hire car or driver to get here. Roads are narrow, so drive at your peril, and remember, they drive on the left. Super park, well-branded, Seven Earths were interesting, though it is a small area. Turtles were fun two. Two were mating when we were there. Quite novel. The waterfall is cute; we are from Switzerland, so was like looking at a dripping tap for us. Well worth an afternoon out. Stop just past the Chameral restaurant for a pic on the way down.

5.00Watching the Seven Earths live is even more impressive. The facility is very well maintained. Likewise, turtles are there in the enclosure. Unfortunately you don't have access here

4.00Tickets cost 750 rupees. The price is a little high, I think. Very well maintained complex. The 7 Earths are really even more impressive. It was very breathtaking to see these giant turtles. Unfortunately, these were in an enclosure without access

4.00The complex includes a waterfall worth seeing and a tour around the multicolored earth. Admission MUR 750.00 per person is much for about 1 hour stay.

3.00Good experience, the tour is done quickly (30 mins), it is worth the detour and entry is not very expensive. There is a small corner to eat and drink, and a souvenir shop at the exit but the prices are quite high. The staff is very kind, at least the woman we saw at the entrance. You can then go to the waterfall which is beautiful.
