by 30.8.2026
The Heidi Horten Collection presents an exhibition that is thought-provoking – and touching at the same time. Animalia shows how close the relationship between humans and animals really is and how different we see animals : as friends, as symbols, as farm animals or as a projection surface for our own feelings. With over 90 works by artists : inside such as Chagall, Hirst, Jermolaewa, Lassnig, Lichtenstein, Marc, Oppenheim and Warhol, Animalia invites you to think. Through stimulating and often surprising perspectives, it shows what it means to be human.

The exhibition "The Line" is simply magnificent. The museum staff very friendly. Even if we got too close to a work of art, it was reacted to with humor.O TON : " MAY I PRESENT THE ARTWORK TO YOU?" If you listened to the museum educators, you could not escape the amazement. Appreciation and respect were as important as enthusiasm and desire for cultural mediation. I know about the historical background of the house nevertheless I want to rate the experience as simply awesome. THANK YOU

Very well put together, interestingly connected with the companies of the 20s, an extraordinary experience. I bought the annual ticket right away because there are so many short-term top events organized. The location is also very good next to Opera and Albertina, public or on foot/bike/scooter extremely easily accessible

Competent guidance of a dedicated art historian with subsequent implementation of an idea on the canvas. Entertaining, informative, creative with a great fun factor.

It is an important collection of contemporary art, with spaces also for educational workshops. In classical (but not only, think Hunterwasser, the Secesse) an element of less conventional art.
