An activity-packed journey into Central Mongolia, an area of diverse landscapes and the nomadic heartland of the country. See the sacred Mountain Khogno Khaan, and the dunes at Elsen Tasarkhai before venturing to the Hustai National Park for the wild Takhi "Przewalski" horses and a plethora of wildlife. This condensed trip is a great introduction to the rich diversity of Mongolia’s culture and landscapes, with authentic homestays in guest gers next to local nomadic families. Spend time with your hosts and also use these fabulous wilderness locations as a base to explore the surrounding area on foot, by horse, and by vehicle. You will experience a range of cultural traditions – cookery, ankle-bone games, milking, and herding, which may all feature at some stage along your way.

Elsen Tasarkhai
Today you head to the nature reserve of Khogno Khan, where you can explore the lower temple complex of Uvgun Khiid, see the reconstructed temples, a prayer wheel and look around the ruins. Then we recommend taking the 45-minute hike up to the old ruined temple complex in the hills - the scenery is fantastic, and depending on the time of year, wildflowers may be in abundance. Head back down to the valley floor and onto the dunes at Elsen Tasarkhai, a 30-minute drive away. Tonight you will stay alongside a family of camel herders - settle into your gers and head off on a Bactrian ride across the dunes for an hour, then enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Travel across inner Mongolia and feel what real nomadic life is. A lot of various experiences and people I will never forget, in just three days I've lived something that change my life perspectives forever. The tour is really well organized, flexible and reactive, the team is really supportive, not only during, but also before and after the tour happen. Should you have any question or request unrelated to the tour itself, they will be more helpful than anybody else you can find there! I was luck enough to have Mendee as a guide and Baina as a driver, thumbs up for their amazing work! Just so you know: don't expect any luxury while you stay in the host families! The tour promise to live nomadic life, this means no toilets, no amenities and no shower! But don't let that stop you
