  To be so up close to the very talented and passionate performers, be it the flamenco dancers, musicians or singers. I thank all of them as they were all fabulous. Very talented. Definitely recommend for anyone. Lovely in such a small, intimate venue.

  I started looking for flamenco presentations even before the trip and it quickly became clear that Madrid offers numerous options. Many of them have a more tourist profile, combining show with dinner or formats that end up diverting attention from what really matters. Essential Flamenco drew my attention precisely for the opposite proposal: total focus on artistic experience, without interference, valuing flamenco in its most authentic and direct form. The expectation was high — and was largely exceeded. Right upon arrival, the attendance of the staff is careful and welcoming. While the audience awaits the start of the show, a glass of wine or sangria is served, a simple gesture that helps to create the climate and prepare the viewer for what comes next, without breaking the atmosphere of concentration that the show proposes. The spectacle takes place in an ancient cellar of apparent bricks, with a ceiling in arc, a space that impresses both by its architecture and impeccable natural acoustics. With a maximum capacity of around 60 people, the audience is accommodated in just three rows of seats arranged in a semicircle around the stage, ensuring that everyone is a few meters away from the artists. This intimate configuration dispenses any type of sound amplification: everything is heard and felt directly, from the touch of the instruments to the palms, from the singing to the vibrations of the shoe-shooter on the stage, which literally reach the body of the watchers. Before the performance, there is also a brief explanation, in Spanish and English, about the history and roots of flamenco, reinforcing the connection with its origins. On stage, musicians and two dancers conduct a spectacle of impressive energy. Closeness makes all the difference: you can perceive nuances, breathing, looks and the physical force involved in each movement. The musical formation goes beyond the basics, expanding the sound spectrum of flamenco and reinforcing the protagonism of musicians as well as dancers. Essential Flamenco delivers exactly what it promises: an intense, true and deeply exciting experience. A spectacle that does not try to “explain” flamenco to the public, but makes it feel.   Fabulous venue for pre drinks. The flamenco took place in a small cave like structure underground which was lovely. A nice small intimate venue for such powerful music and dance.
