Today’s tour begins at 4:30 AM with the first opportunity to visit Angkor Wat temple at sunrise. After experiencing the breathtaking sunrise, we will take a breakfast break. Following breakfast, we will continue to explore Angkor Thom, visiting its South Gate, West Gate, North Gate, and East Gate. We will also tour several significant sites within Angkor Thom, including Baphuon Temple, the Angkor Ancient Royal Palace, Phimeanakas Temple, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

The equinox sunrise casts a stunning glow behind the towers of Angkor Wat, making it the premier location in Siem Reap to witness a spectacular sunrise.

I suggest an early morning excursion where we position ourselves in front of the reflection pool. With a bit of luck, the colors of the sky will beautifully illuminate the temple, allowing us to capture this iconic site at its most magical moment.

The tour begins at 4:30 AM, departing from your hotel to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Angkor Wat. This event is part of the many astronomical alignments that highlight a "fairly elaborate system of astronomy" and reflect the Hindu influence in the construction of the vast temple complex of Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world and is renowned for being one of the best-preserved. It is also an architectural masterpiece of the Khmer civilization. Its perfection in composition, balance, proportions, relief, and sculpture makes it one of the finest monuments globally. Angkor Wat combines two fundamental designs of Khmer temple architecture: the temple-mountain and the later galleried temple. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, the home of the devas in Hindu mythology.

Angkor Thom served as the fortified capital city of Cambodia during the height of the Khmer Empire. it was established by King Yasovarman I. The name "Angkor Thom" translates to "Great City" and reflects its significance as a major urban center.
