During this 3h experience we will learn about the beginning of Brazil and the importance of Salvador as the Black Capital of Latin America. From the famous Castro Alves Square, or as we call it here "a praça do povo”(people’s square), we will start our journey together discovering why Salvador is such a magical place. The Municipal Square, Lacerda Elevator and the Fallen Cross from where we have breath taking views of the Bay of All Saints and Itaparica Island. Centenary churches like the Cathedral and rich ones like São Francisco will definitely be part of our itinerary. Now it’s time for a refreshing coconut water on our way into the heart of the Historical Center, the Pelourinho Square where we will visit the Baian Gastronomy Museum to learn about the African influence through the different typical dishes. This is a very complete and rich tour and a “must do” if you want to learn about our city.

I was fortunate to have Gabriela Parnetti as my guide. Her knowledge of history and culture in Pelourinho and surrounding areas of Salvador was amazing. There is lots of information which she is able to clearly share and make adjustments to address your specific interests. The added bonus is Gabriela is a very nice person and easy to communicate with. Thank you for making this a wonderful experience.

I had a great experience visiting the Pelourinho with Gabriela! She is super friendly, passionate and transmits a wealth of rich and accurate information about Salvador’s history and culture. In addition to being very effective in the visit, she recommended me lots of nice little places to discover in the city. A real pleasure to have him as a guide, I highly recommend!

Joining the walking tour with Gabriela turned out to be a fantastic last minute decision. She provided a thorough and insightful history of Salvador de Bahia, covering each area we visited with great detail and knowledge. Gabriela also shared useful tips, and we made a stop at her favorite acarajé spot, which was absolutely delicious! Over the course of three hours, I learned so much about the city's history. I would definitely recommend this tour!

What a wonderful tour of the Pelourinho and historic centre of Salvador. Gabriela knows so much about Salvador, and you can tailor the tour to your tastes. If you like food (we do), she gives heaps of recommendations of restaurants and Street vendors, if you like history (my partner does) she can go deep into the history of Salvador, if you are running a little late (we were) Gabriela was able to accommodate (thank you so much). A must do tour for first time visitors to Salvador.

Gabriela was such an amazing guide. I came to Salvador solo, and she made this tour so insightful and educational. She is hilarious and such a personality as well. She made my first day here one of my absolute favorite! After the tour she made some amazing recommendations on where to eat and must see things! Don’t book anywhere else!

We, my husband and myself, were very happy that we did a private tour with Gabriela as opposed to taking a group shore excursion. She was very knowledgeable. She reordered the route to avoid the crowds from the ship's shore excursions. For safety, she advised us to take a taxi to the meeting place as opposed to walking, which we were glad we did. It was 50 Brazilian Real for the taxi ride, about $10. But after we had the lay of the land, and being appropriately dressed down so as not to invite pickpockets, she dropped us off at the Lacerda Elevator and gave us the 30 cents for the fare which took us very close to the cruise terminal and passengers walking on the sidewalks. Aside: In the cruise terminal, there is an ATM, beware the fees!, and if you go just beyond a cash exchange which was very reasonable.
