Culloden Battlefield
See the battlefield as its preserved this day, walk through the paved areas, passing both the Jacobite and Government lines. View the Clan stones and large cairn identifying the many Clans that fought together. From an "Outlander" perspective witness the Clan Fraser stone, referred to in the Outlander Series where "Jamie" experienced the battlefield itself. There is a visitors centre on site that provides an indoor information tour (self guided) but incurs additional costs to enter the tour. Restrooms, café and shop are free to enter.
Clava Cairns
A short distance from Culloden Battlefield finds the ancient Clava Cairns. This location is well visited and the Cairns and standing stones are believed to be approximately 4000 years old. This is a well maintained area and although not paved is accessible to all. Access to the centre of the Cairns is also available. The largest of the standing stones is very popular to recreate that "Outlander " moment of transportation through the stone and back in time as done by both Clair and Brianna many times!!!!

Our tour made Scotland come alive. Our tour guide David Ogilvie was highly informative in regard to the history and natural beauty of Scotland. He was also a great guide to the fabulous distilleries. He could not have been more gracious and informative. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in an outstanding experience in Scotland

We had a wonderful experience with Bob from Caledonia Supreme Tours & Transfers. Being a Northern Highlands local, he showed us all of the sites in the Highlands around Inverness as well as a stop at a local distillery and castle. Being a retired 30 yr policeman, he was chock full of great information. I highly recommend him!

Our party consisted of 7 ladies on a day trip to Isle of Skye. We had an amazing day. Bob is very knowledgeable about Scottish history but in a lighthearted manner. The craic was excellent. Would have no hesitation recommending Bob.

Booking a personal tour with Caledonia Supreme Tours and Transit was a highlight of our two week visit to Scotland. Bob was able to be flexible with schedule while still helping us see and learn about the top sights in the Inverness area. (Culloden battlefield, Clava cairns, Cawdor castle, Urquhart castle, Loch ness) Bob arrived in a well appointed Mercedes van that could have easily accommodated 6 or more passengers. He used a microphone while driving to ensure we could hear the tour commentary along the way. Not just a driver, Bob is well versed in the area and history and offered insightful facts and stories throughout, while injecting humor along the way. At some sites Bob went along with us to offer guidance and input, on others, where tour narratives were provided, he left us to tour at our own pace and connected with us when we were done to move on to the next place on our list. Bob was charismatic and chatty and added local color to our entire tour, making it much more enjoyable and interesting than some stuffy pre-packaged jaunt with 25 other strangers and a tired tour guide. Next time we're in Inverness, we'll definitely engage Bob and Caledonia Supreme Tours and Transit again. Maybe next time, we'll catch a glimpse of Nessie.

What can we say about Bob? Only that, he absolutely made our trip to the Highlands one of, if not, the most memorable experience we have had on our travels. He is an enthusiastic and gracious host, not to mention his vast knowledge of the history of his beloved Scotland. His touring vehicle was always spotless, and he entertained us with his humor and authentic charisma. He made sure we saw and experienced everything on our wish list. We hope to see him again for our next trip to Scotland as we consider him a dear friend. p.s. Thanks for replenishing the scotch and shortbread every day!

Best tour day in Scotland! Bob reconfirmed our tour the day prior and offered suggestions of how to make the most of our time with him. Bob was knowledgeable, polite and well spoken. By the end of the day we felt as if we had seen the most beautiful spots between Inverness and Oban - and per our request, had walked a bunch as well. I only wish that we had Bob as our tour guide and driver for the rest of our trip!

If you want to spend time exploring the Highlands with someone who knows his country, history, geography and traditions, I recommend to book the day with Bob. He showed us the main touristic places driving ftom Glasgow to the Inverness. But he showed us off the beaten track places as well, like hidden waterfalls and great places to eat. He didn’t rush us while I took bunch of photos. He was really flexible attending to our interests and the pace. It was more like spending time with the local friend than the tour guide. We loved it so much that asked for one more day tour to explore the Highlands. Thanks, Bob, for showing us your country!

Spectacular! My husband and I did a wonderful 5-day tour. Bob made the experience remarkable. We had an incredible journey through a beautiful country. We started our time in Edinburgh and traveled the country's width, taking in sites like St. Andrews, The Queens Views, Pitlochry, Inverness, Loch Ness, Glencoe, Oban, and so much more. Bob put together a tour that fit our wishes, including history, castles, culture, whiskey, churches, and even a little Outlander. A multiple-day tour using Caledonia Supreme and the comfort of a van with a humorous, kind, and true Highlander tour guide made our vacation magical. Trust Bob to make your vacation a journey you will never forget. Bob, we will be back to see you sometime, and we are bringing the rest of the family!! And yes Bob does have an incredible snack basket..

We loved our two days with Bob, while in the Scottish Highlands. He is very professional, friendly and so flexible and accommodating. I worked closely with him ahead of time to work out what we wanted to do each day. And he had lots of great suggestions of the various options that were available. We had a loose plan of the definite stops and then went with the flow from there. Because of Bob's total flexibility, he was able to customize our experience for us. And an added bonus - he had the best snack basket in is very comfortable van.
