Today our group of 6 enjoyed a wonderful morning on the Mary Valley Rattler train trip return trip between Gympie to Amamoor. All processes, from the initial booking & today taking the trip, were very straightforward and professionally handled. No problems at all. We just relaxed and enjoyed the experience. In our carriage we were seated together on comfortable couches with a table to put out our snacks. Our pre purchased snacks were ready for us when we arrived this morning. The 45 minute stop in Amamoor was interesting and passed very quickly & productively. It gave us a chance to see what was on show at the little town, buy food, drinks and souvenirs, take photos, plus watch the locomotive being turned around on the turntable for the return trip. Our carriage assistant, Meredith, was pleasant & informative. As well there was a great commentary given on the PA system at appropriate times by Cate. All of the team of volunteers were very helpful and friendly. Well done drivers on a smooth ride. Thank you team for great memories of a wonderful day.

Exceptional VIP service in carriage 1130 today with cabin host Brad. We have been wanting to do this experience for some years and what better way to celebrate my 60th birthday by travelling back in history on the Mary Valley Rattler train. The local cheese platter, water on board in a memorable stubby holder, awaited us on arrival. The journey exceeded our expectations and the food served for lunch on return was delicious. Highly recommend 👌

Took a ride on the Mary Valley Rattler to introduce grandchildren to the experience of yesteryear train travel. The seats were comfortable and a good breeze blew throughout the carriages keeping us somewhat cool. Some points of interest were pointed out along the way but the highlight was watching the engine be turned around on the turntable for the return journey. Being able to take our esky on board to provide cool drinks and lunch was ideal. It's a good 1/2 day adventure into history.

We have been looking forward to the Mary Rattler Experience for some time and we’re not disappointed. The team were friendly efficient and helpful. The train was magnificent and the trip was fun seeing parts of the area from a different angle. Ammamor was a great stop with a small market and cafe. The information in the museum was of great interest too. We would go again

You will experience how the trains ran before electric and diesel. The trains are run by volunteers who have a passion.

Experience advertised as From Hervey Bay, the thing is the meeting point is 100 minutes drive away so I couldn't join the tour

A great way to experience some Australian history and countryside all whilst relaxing on a lovely steam train. The day was a pleasant enjoyable day for adults/Couples families and friends. The Volunteers were knowledgeable about the train, tracks and area history. Also they were a lot of fun. We took the Sunday journey which also had a wee liqueur and wine tasting on the way home with some lovely cheeses too just for an extra $5AUD, well worth it. Lots of stops to get some nibbles and a coffee too.

A really fun experience, listening to the clatter of the engine and the steam whistle, having steam stream past the windows! The scenery was lovely, the stops at Amamoor and Dagun were great to stop and have a drink and something to eat. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this for a morning activity.
