Chinatown - Bangkok
Starting in the heart of Chinatown, our bike ride explores its frenetic market environment. Winding through narrow alleyways, our senses come alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of a community in motion. We’ll pass by shophouses selling everything from Buddhist amulets to recycled truck engines. Locals worshiping at hidden temples, ritual paper burnings, and the omnipresent spirit house display evidence of a culture centuries in the making.
The Chao Phraya River
Crossing the Chao Phraya River to Thailand's former capital, Thonburi. We cross either by cycling over the bridge, or take a local ferry.

Sorry to be all Debbie Downer, but in all honestly I found this tour to be largely a waste of time. Everyone involved in their admin team, and the bike leaders themselves, is perfectly nice. But the tour --which in my case was centered in the Old City-- was super basic. If you're looking for any kind of meaningful in-depth historical or cultural info this is not the tour for you. If you're looking to see/visit special off-the-beaten path places this is not the tour for you. If I had just grabbed a bike and rode around solo by myself with zero guidance it would actually have been more interesting. And heads up: the bright yellow bikes everyone's given are all as big and clunky as Cadillacs... which is less than ideal when riding round small alleyways, as one does throughout the Old Town area. I will say that everyone --literally everyone-- on the tour I was on was Dutch... and so in the end I gathered that the tour bike choice would be considered a standard old-school basic two-wheeler in the Netherlands. No doubt a legacy of the Dutch founder of this bike company. Or maybe it's an intentional choice to make the bikes so unwieldy or uncomfortable that nobody would steal them? Who knows? But I'm very athletic, and I bike all the time, in all kinds of conditions... and these bikes are just really bad. Particularly if you're gonna be on them for the better part of 4 hours. Though we actually stopped so many times for extended periods to sit around and do nothing (presumably because of the extreme heat?) that it was definitely not 4 solid hours of biking. More like 2. To be fair, maybe families with kids and/or older people who want a very superficial and physically undemanding experience will end up enjoying this kind of tour. I can only speak for myself. But in the end I was pretty frustrated. I will say that the boat ride at the end (which is an optional add-on, after ditching the bikes) was the best part. Also not particularly informative or challenging. But the short excursion out to a small farm outside of town was, for me at least, a more pleasurable and interesting use of our time. (And for what it's worth, in a place like Bangkok where the dollar goes a longggggg way, the tour cost --at around $50 US-- is kinda insane. If it had been a great eye-opener, then all good. But... it wasn't. :)

This was such a fun experience. Jess and Boss made our experience unforgettable. The way they told stories and answered all our questions about Bangkok was very special and interesting. Everything was arranged perfectly. When we arrived, a delicious lunch was waiting for us. A 10/10 experience. I would definitely recommend it!

We had high hopes for the bike tour, but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. Based on what we had read beforehand, this seemed to be one of the highlights of our visit to Bangkok. In practice, that turned out to be different. During the tour there was little to nothing told about the city centre of Bangkok or the area we cycled through. That was exactly what we had hoped for: more background, history and explanation of what we saw. Instead, most of the attention was focused on personal stories of the guide, Evie, who spoke mostly about herself and indicated that she wanted to go home. That didn't come across as very professional. In addition, there was hardly room to stop for photos or to have a quiet look at something. The pace was high and the feeling was mainly: continue cycling and finish quickly. As a result, we really missed the experience and the opportunity to take everything in well. All in all a disappointing experience. Too bad, because based on the reviews and expectations, this should have been a very fun and informative tour.

Wow, a fantastic 5-hour bike and boat tour package. A hassle-free, safe and great way to explore the back streets and back lanes of Bangkok and the outer suburbs that most visitors would never venture out to. The tour guides provided an excellent, friendly and energetic service. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience Bangkok on two wheels and on water in a safe, fun and relaxing environment.

Excellent tour and saw parts of Bangkok we wouldn't have seen with bigger tours. Had youth bikes for my 8 year old. It was a very unique experience to see the local culture.

Excellent trip! We did the 5 hr bike & boat tour and it exceeded our expectations. Proud and Wakim were fantastic guides, ensured we were safe with plenty of water and information about different areas. Chinatown setting up and the lunch was a highlight, cafe in the front of a house off and an alleyway in a residential settlement. We were vegetarian and well catered for. Highly recommend this tour and our guides - our children aged 9,12 and 14 enjoyed seeing the real Bangkok- the 7am start was good as still very hot and humid but would be worse later in the day.

The biketour was the highlight on our Bangkok visit. We went to areas that we never went by walking. I really recommend the tour.

Today the city bike tour done under the guidance of the guides Book & Cathy. It was really more than worth it. We cycled through authentic alleys and streets. Also Chinatown was very nice. And the indoor Market. Book could tell very nice. Was also regularly stopped to eat and drink something. At the end the bike ferry crossed the river. This city bike tour is really worth it!
