Y Linh Ho
Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (9-11km, ~5.5 hours) • The tour starts at 9:00 AM. I will meet you at your hotel in Sapa Town or in front of the local main church. • After a brief introduction, we’ll leave Sapa and trek down to Y Linh Ho village, passing beautiful landscapes along the way. • We will stop for lunch at a small, traditional restaurant run by a local Hmong family.
Lao Chai
• After lunch, we continue to Lao Chai, one of the oldest and largest Hmong villages in the area. Lao Chai Village is a peaceful and picturesque village nestled in the stunning Muong Hoa Valley. Home to the Black Hmong ethnic minority, Lao Chai offers you a chance to experience authentic Hmong culture and breathtaking views of terraced rice fields stretching across the mountains. The village is surrounded by lush green hills, bamboo forests, and winding streams. Here, you can learn about traditional weaving, join in daily activities with local families, and enjoy homestay experiences that bring them closer to the unique way of life in the mountains of northern Vietnam.
Ta Van Village
• From there, we trek to Ta Van Village, home to the Giay and Hmong ethnic minorities. Depending on the season, you may see locals planting or harvesting rice. Along the way, I will share insights into the cultural differences between ethnic groups. • Upon arriving at my family’s homestay, you’ll have time to rest, take a hot shower, and relax. • In the evening, you can join an informal cooking class with my family to prepare a traditional dinner. • During dinner, I will share my story about supporting 10 local children’s education, and my students will perform a traditional dance to welcome you! You’ll also get to play with the kids, enjoy some fun drinking games with “Happy Water” (local rice wine), and experience an authentic Hmong-style evening

We absolutely loved our two day tour with Dinh and her team! We had Do on the first day and Choo on the second day. The tour was definitely an adventure and our guides were fantastic even in the rain! Dinh and her family made us feel so welcome in their home and treated us to a dance performance from her students! This is a very special experience and Dinh is doing an amazing job - definitely our Vietnam highlight.

A tour with any of Dinh’s family members is the best way to spend your time in Sa Pa. She is amazing as is her homestay and what she is doing for her local community. Thank you Dinh!

We did the two-day trek with the organization of Dinh and that was a great experience. Our guide Chacha has told us a lot about her culture, ethnic minorities and life in the mountains of Sapa. Chacha was incredibly friendly and spoke good English. The trekking itself was adventurous and beautiful. As a group you could choose between an easier or more challenging path, which was very nice. Along the way we had beautiful views over the valley and the rice fields. The homestay was neat and comfortable and the food was very tasty. Thank you so much for this valuable and special experience!

First off ..... It was just the best experience. This is a must. Dihn has set up an amazing homestay and employs local women to host groups of 9 or 10. You can contact Dihn direct or book through several sites; we used Get Your Guide. Communication was super. We all met at 0900 at Sapa Church. There was about 30 people from 19 to 65 years old. All we reasonably fit. We were asked if we had a preference who to go with. We ended up with a lovely group of Dutch people. Our baggage was transported to the homestay. We kept a small rucksack for layers, mosquito spray and suncream. Our guide was Cha Cha; she was just awesome, positive, engaging, informative and funny. To be fair everyone said the same of their guide. Dihn obviously chooses her guides well. We kept being given the option to take an easy walk, but chose the more challenging route. There were occasional slippery parts but nothing too bad for an average walker. We stopped for food. All included in the price, large portions and very yummy. Local ladies did follow the group but peeled away once they realised we were not buying souvenirs. The homestay was fantastic. Couples were given a room each, groups a doom fire themselves and singles paired up and given a room with twin beds. We helped make spring rolls, which was a fun group activity. The dinner was lovely. Dihn entertained everyone and provided Happy Water (Rice Wine) afterwards. We went to bed early but some of the younger ones partied until midnight, when they were thankfully made to be quiet. The 2 day walk was even better. We finished at 1500 and we were all back and Sapa Church by 1530. Thank you Cha Cha, you made it all so special. I can whole heartily recommend this tour.

We did the trek 2days 1 night with Dinh sapa trekking, the experience was incredible, we did a walk of a very accessible level. The meals were very hearty and tasty, all surrounded by a team of guides and staff very friendly, funny, and welcoming with little care. All in all, the money goes to an honorable cause to help ethnic minority children access education. I recommend 100%

We booked at the last minute on WhatsApp, without really knowing what to expect... What a nice surprise! Dinh is an amazing, passionate and generous woman who shares her culture and history with all the people she welcomes. We had the chance to make the trek with his sister, just as great! She guided us through the rice fields explaining everything we came across on our way: plants, rice cultivation, fabric dyeing techniques, and much more. In short, two unforgettable days that will remain etched in our memories! 💛 A huge thank you to Dinh and her family for this unique experience! 🙏

This was easily the best part of my 1 month trip in Vietnam! Dinh is an incredible woman with an incredible energy. She’s very knowledgable on the surrounding area and willing to answer all your questions. The tour itself is so beautiful with immense views. Her home stay is clean and cosy and a true pleasure to experience. It was a privilege to hear her story and experience an aspect of her daily life. I hope you will go and try this trekking tour as it was so much more than walking. From the beautiful views, great company, great food, and wonderful stories.

Doing the tour with Dinh was the best choice during my Vietnam travels, it was simply amazing. The homestay rooms are amazing, as well as the food and ambiance in general. Also with booking with Dinh you are supporting the local children to go to school. Hearing their story is simply touching and interesting. The trekking itself is also so beautifull and also great for meeting people. It felt like home, thank you Dinh! Special thanks to Chu and Mu, my guides on my last trek<3

We had the most wonderful trekking adventure and honesty with Dinah (crazy) and her family. They are so hospitable and kind and gave us a fantastic experience of a homestay. The trekking over 2 days was quite challenging but such an experience trekking through the villages and paddy fields. The whole family worked together to ensure the success of the experience and nothing is too much effort. Dinah’s fun, caring, vibrant personality is brilliant and she makes even the hardest hills fun! The food is amazing as well and the family makes you feel very comfortable. I’d highly recommend, best thing we did in Sapa and an experience you’ll never forget!

I enjoyed the 2-day, 1-night trekking tour with Dinh and it was the highlight of my Vietnam trip! We walked through stunning rice terraces, bamboo forests, and peaceful villages — places I would never have found on my own. Dinh shared stories about her culture and life as a Hmong woman, which made the experience truly meaningful. At night, I stayed at her bungalow, which has the most incredible view I’ve ever seen. The room was simple but cozy and clean, and I loved waking up to the mountains and fresh air. In the evening, we had a traditional Hmong dinner with her family — it felt like home. Everything was well organized, and I felt safe and welcomed the entire time. If you’re looking for real local culture, nature, and warm people — this is the tour you should book!
