We drive for just 8 minutes to reach the cable car station. Here we jump on the cable car and in 11 minutes ascend 1300 meters to the Lovcen National Park. The view are as you would expect and when you arrive at the top station, where it's around 3-5 degrees cooler, we'll get fitted for on our bikes. After a safety briefing and description of what you will be seeing, we begin the descent which takes about 90-120 minutes depending on the duration and number of stops on the way down. The road is generally excellent and the grade is not steep.

This was such a fun excursion! Beautiful views the entire time with scenic stops and photo moments, all led by our friendly and helpful guide Rafa. We did the alpine coaster before heading down the mountain, and it was a blast. One caveat — you definitely need to feel comfortable biking downhill and navigating cars/buses/motorcycles on some tight roads. It wasn’t a problem, and Rafa helped us out the whole way. Just something to keep in mind for any not-so-confident bikers in your group. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Highly highly recommend this great activity!

Let’s start with Jeff - who - with a moments notice has our guide Rafa whisk us off to an unbelievable cable car ride to the top of world - jaw drop views - then proceeds to take us on the longest downhill bike ride ever and ever - never had a rest stop on a downhill run……. seriously - Rafa had several for us all at the right time ……. He gave us briefings about what was ahead at each stop - no surprises - except for take your breath away vistas while coasting downhill…….Rafa made all the difference in making this ride the standard by which all others will be measured …… yeah - believe it……

Fantastic day with a great guide, we loved it. We did struggle a little to find the meeting point and only 1 persons phone from the party worked in Montenegro so we were a little bit worried at the start, but don’t let that put you off. The meeting point is by the wire fencing to the left of the Idea supermarket - the traffic was crazy on the morning of our trip so he was 10 mins late, which also worries us. Nonetheless when Rafi arrived we jumped on the van and headed off to the cable car - it’s about a 10 minute drive from town. We were blown away by the cable car which is brand new and fantastic. Toilets at the bottom were spotless. Rafi sorted the tickets. When we were ascending we spotted a new rail bobsled ride which, if you get the chance, you should do - it was 8 euros and they took cards. Rafi said we had time to do this and it was amazing. After this we took a short walk to pick up the bikes which were all fitted to us individually - the bikes were all great quality (Cube brand). Helmets were also provided. The surface at the top is beautiful and with little traffic helps you to get familiar with the bikes - after a few minutes Rafi stopped to make sure everyone was OK before setting off. Rafi cycled along with us constantly making sure everyone was safe and any traffic was flagged to us and they were made aware of our presence. We stopped for a quick break about half way down at a fantastic cafe- be mindful they only take cash and there are no toilets - the views from the deck here are stunning so well worth it. The whole thing took about 2 hours to cycle and was not difficult if you have done any sort of cycling before. The guide, Rafi, was excellent and we could not fault in any way

The instructions about meeting up were not clear so we never managed to go on the tour. The cable car base is 4km from the cruise port so not walkable as suggested in the instructions and it was difficult to get a taxi (one quoted us €40 each way!). When we finally spoke to the company they admitted there had been a mixup and were keen to help (and offered to pay for the taxi) but there was not enough time to be comfortably back for our ship leaving time. We were very disappointed but have to say we received a no quibble full refund so all was not lost.

The absolute highlight of our trip with guide Hassan. Perfectly organised and executed. Wonderful route in the national park, over the serpentines back down to the valley station. Riding an e-bike couldn't be more beautiful.

We booked this bike ride decent tour as an add on experience to our cruise on Virgin Voyages. The cruise ship offered shore excursions often are not as interesting to our interests, overpriced, and still sell out. So we found this and bouy (sailor humor) were we the fortunate few that had the most epic day of sites and thrills. Our guide Rafael, from Brazil was amazing. Took us from the town center of Kotor by car to the cable car gondola station a few miles away, there we rode to the top of the mountain to a fantastic and modern viewing spot with a alpine coaster ride to enjoy. Our guide anticipated that we would want to enjoy this location before walking to the bike center a short distance away. We were outfitted with helmets and very well maintained mountain bikes with shimano disk brakes and derailers. The ride down from the epic mountain top national park to the twisty and amazing scenery was the highlight of our two week stay in this part of Europe cruising the Greek Isles and Adriatic destinations. Our expectations were blown away, and our guide was so thoughtful, knowledgeable, and just plain fun and nice to spend the day with.

This was an absolutely incredible experience and would highly recommend if you are visiting Montenegro! Our tour guide - Raf - was really friendly and tailored the trip to us, stopping at gorgeous spots along the way and riding at a pace that felt safe and good for us. The views are breathtaking and the bonus of just having to ride downhill instead of uphill is great! The cable car ride up is also a brilliant bonus. The company was well organised and communicated with us well re, where to meet etc. Would definitely do this again!
