What To Expect
Your tour guide will meet you at reception, where your experience begins with a short multimedia presentation. You’ll then enjoy a guided tour through our Millhouse and Stillroom, as your guide explains each stage of the whisky-making process. Next, you’ll visit our Cooperage Display to discover the traditional tools that have been used over the centuries to craft the barrels in which our whisky is matured. The tour continues through the Bottling Room and into our traditional Dunnage Warehouse, where you can take in the rich, distinctive aromas. Your visit concludes with a tasting of three of our finest Lowland Malt Whiskies. Afterwards, you are welcome to browse at your leisure in our charming gift shop.

A Lowlands Distillery Gem

5.00Great tour and great distillery. Evelyn our guide was terrific and Ray the Operations Manager is great. Brand new distillery but with classic heritage equipment which to a whisky geek like me is awesome. Copper topped rake and plow type mash tun. Must be 50 or 60 years old. Not too many rake and plow models in use any more. The stills are from the old defunct Caperdonach Distillery which stopped production in 2002 and was demolished in 2011 and are at least 60 years old also. The spirit safe is from 1958 which makes it about as old as me and that's getting up there. Bottling done on site which is very rare. And labels hand placed on the bottles which, again, is very rare. The "spirit" of the place is, as always, the people there and Evelyn and Ray were wonderful. The ownership is Mr. George Stewart, who formerly owned the Rosebank distillery, and his daughter Fiona (Rosebank recently reopened under the ownership of the Ian MacLeod conglomerate ). But this place is family owned by Mr. Stewart and his daughter. That aspect is much appreciated because you just can feel that family enterprise v. big company vibe. The whisky there is very nice. Nice light, sweet Lowlands style. Thanks to Evelyn and Ray for a wonderful visit.

5.00I run tea in the tailgate central Scotland, and arrange a meet there on the 9th may and arranged a tour for everyone that came to the meet up, everything about the distillery and experience exceeded our expectations, we met the owner who are amazing and Ray carried out our tour which was amazing. Highly recommend

5.00I have visited quite a number of distilleries and The Falkirk Distillery was definitely one of the best tours. Ray, our guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Also, unlike some other visits, I felt the time spent on the tour was just about right. Finally, the 3 drams at the end were very enjoyable. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

5.00We had a fascinating visit. Evelyn our guide was so interesting and well informed. We were taken through from the vision for the distillery when it was founded, to the excitement of the first bottling, to plans for the future - a fascinating journey. Tasting the end product was a real treat! We plan to revisit in the future to see how the journey continues.

4.00Falkirk distillery doesn’t have the same panache about it as Rosebank distillery just a couple of miles along the road. However what it lacked, was more than made up by Ray who took the tour. He made the ‘process of making whisky’ very interesting, throwing in a few funnies along the way. Well worth the £25

5.00The tourist such good fun. Ray, the Ops Manager took us round and was such good fun. Ray is incredibly knowledgeable and adds comedy relief throughout. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Falkirk a couple of times already, and each time we see so much progress with all they’re doing - excited to see what the restaurant looks like once it’s finished!!!

5.00Despite living less than 2 miles from the distillery I had never visited it and so when I was gifted a tour for Christmas I was intrigued to find out if it was any good. Well I wasn't disappointed, from the minute you walk through the front door your are greeted in a relaxed and friendly manner. Our guide for the tour was Evelyn and she was a fountain of knowledge taking us through the various stages of whisky making and explaining the history of how Falkirk Distillery came to be. I've been on quite a few distillery tours in my time and it was nice to have a guide who actually enjoys drinking whisky and not not just reciting from the script. At the end of the tour we got to the best part, the tasting. There were three different releases and each had a unique flavour all of their own. However the Kelpies Sherry cask was by far my favourite and needless to say I procured a bottle to enjoy later. There were hints that the distillery will be opening a restaurant in the not too distant future and that is something to look forward to. So if you like whisky and your in the area go visit and taste some excellent drams.
