I took 24 hours to sit with everything I learned on this tour before writing this review. Armina was a truly wonderful guide. She speaks from the heart and emphasizes that every person’s experience and story from this time is different. Before coming to Sarajevo, I knew a siege had taken place, but I had no idea of the true depth of what happened to the ethnic groups in this region. Armina is passionate about making sure the world knows what occurred here. Her in-depth, personal account honors the resilience of the people of Sarajevo and highlights the lasting impact the siege continues to have on survivors and future generations. I highly recommend this tour, and if you can request Armina as your guide, you won’t regret it. Thank you for the privilege of sharing these stories. I will do my part to spread awareness and share what I learned with others

A short tour but covers a lot of history and sites. Our tour guide provided a great history of Yugoslavia to present day. Do the morning tour in the winter months.

I can’t begin to give enough stars to our experience with Meet Bosnia! From the time we were picked up by the transfer at the airport and dropped off right at our apartment to our 3 AMAZING tours that gave us such wonderful insight to this beautiful country, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of Meet Bosnia. Our first tour was the food and craft tour with Kiki and we had an absolutely wonderful 4 hours. Kiki was kind, engaging and so knowledgeable about where to eat,and what crafts people to visit. We felt like we were wandering town with an old friend . The next day we took the sobering Srebrenica excursion with Enis. We learned so much not just from visiting the memorial and the cemetery but from chatting with Enis during the drive . Our last day was the Fall of Yugoslavia tour with Ahmed. We all felt that everything fell into a e and we finally understood (as much as we could) what had happened during the siege of Sarajevo and the rest of the Bosnian conflict. We were all so incredible grateful to these three guides….Kiki, Enis and Ahmed… for helping us to understand and appreciate the beauty and the history of this beautiful country.

Amazing trip. Even better tour guide (Almir) who lived and breathed the dark times in Sarajevo. Really deep and insightful stories, many personal to Almir. Well organised, value for money and great experience

After the free walking tour, I decided to join this one, and I’m so glad I did. Our guide, Armina, was absolutely incredible. She spoke straight from the heart with so much emotion, honesty, and depth. Through her words, I felt deeply connected to the country and its people. She shared not only historical facts but also personal experiences : the struggles, losses, and hardships faced by her family, friends, and community. Her storytelling was powerful. We began the tour at the Yellow Fortress, overlooking a beautiful view of Sarajevo. From there, we drove around the city, stopping at meaningful sites like the Gavrilo Princip memorial, the assassin’s cemetery, and the remains of the destroyed maternity hospital, a place where Armina herself was born. Driving through Sniper Alley, seeing the bullet and shell holes left on the buildings, was a strong reminder. These scars are intentionally kept so that no one forgets the war, the suffering, and the destruction. They stand as a living memorial. We then visited the Tunnel of Hope, where we had an insightful guided tour that explained how the war, driven by political and ethnic divisions after the collapse of Yugoslavia, brought immense suffering to the people of Bosnia. Finally, we drove up the mountain to the abandoned Olympic buildings overlooking Sarajevo. The view was magical , snowless but still feeling like a winter wonderland and we captured some lovely photos. What touched me most was Armina’s message. No matter which part of the story she told, she always spoke about love, unity, and humanity. As Bosnians, she said, “We remember, and we will not let this happen again.” That message stayed with me. Thank you again for such a beautiful and meaningful tour. It was more than just sightseeing, it was an experience I will carry with me.

This 4-hour tour provides an excellent overview of Sarajevo under siege. Our young guide Ahmed was extremely knowledge with an impressive command of the English language. A history student, he could answer any additional questions we had on the intricacies of the war. Perfect timing, perfect transport, perfect guide; simply a must-do in Sarajevo to grasp the painful history of what's today a beautiful city.

10/10 would recommend to learn dark truth of what happened in that region. It was a short 4 hour tour but it covered a lot! The tour guide explained everything very well and the whole trip was well planned. Highly recommended 😀😀
