We had a fantastic trip with guide Rata, who was awesome on the job! She got us through the water with quite some thrill and we all got home safe 😘 we had lots of fun and would always recommend that tour for families with smaller children! (Our daughter is 5 years old and had not raftet before). What an amazing experience! And a big „thank you“ to Rata once more!

We are a family of four - Dad, a nervous Mum, Miss 7 and Miss 5 and we absolutely loved the trip. The rapids are very kind on a young family. The guide (Kate) was so sweet and patient with the girls. They were absolutely buzzing after the trip. We also got to see native birds up close and take a cheeky dip at the end of the trip. We will be going back again.

It was a wonderful, nice, and safe experience, especially for my kid, who is always afraid of any adrenaline rush activity.

Context, two 64 year olds looking for a bit of fun without necessarily experiencing heart thumping moments ! Having said that our grade 2 rafting was great, we shared the boat with a young family and great fun all of the way. Our guide, Rata, was excellent giving good clear instructions and adding plenty of fun. Added bonus was seeing a family of Blue Duck, apparently very rare. The whole trip was very well organised with friendly staff. All kit was in good condition.

Great family activity with beautiful nature and some action. Very friendly guide that answered all our and our kids’ questions. Our kids are between 8 and 12 and really enjoyed it. It is definitely doable for younger kids as well!

This was our first ever time rafting and we loved it! From the moment we arrived - Fletcher, Jen and Ollie made us feel relaxed and excited! Fletcher was extremely patient and knowledgeable of the local area and clearly loves what he does. In the words of my 12yr old son - Oscar - it was freaking awesome, the water was a little chilly bro haha Thank you again and we highly recommend this activity for an intro to white water rafting - bring on grade 3 lol Cheers Kirsty Carvey (Rockhampton, Australia)

There were 6 of us, 2 children ages 9 and 6. We had a great time with our guide who was funny, knowledgeable and very skilled. The day had rain but we were warm in all the gear they provided and it was fantastic to raft in cloudy weather.

Professional outfit with all the equipment to keep us safe and warm in the winter conditions. Friendly service throughout and the grade 2 river had enough thrills and spills to keep a 9 and 13 year old feeling the adrenaline for their first rafting trip.

We did the family float adventure, which included kids aged 10-13. It was the perfect intro to rafting for them and they all loved it so much they've asked if we can do the next level up next year. Our guide, Sarah, was so fun with a bubbly personality that just added to the whole adventure. The gear provided meant we were warm and comfortable, even though it was a rainy Autumn day. Also, two members of our party had to drop out in the week before due to a broken arm. Tongariro rafting's communication was warm and timely and they gave us a refund for the affected parties immediately. We will definitely be back to try another adventure. Can't recommend Tongariro River Rafting enough!
