Looking for some whitewater while avoiding white-knuckle rapids? The 3 hour Upper Half Day trip is perfect for families, first-timers who are timid, or for those who aren’t strong swimmers – especially in June when we have high water. Enjoy fun rapids such as Hilarity Hole, Screaming Left, and Killer Fang. These rapids offer plenty of splashes and relatively easy navigation without the challenge of long rapids like the Mad Mile. This trip is packed with splashes and smiles!

5.00Our experience with Montana Whitewater was great! The water levels on the river were low this season so our float was not as action packed as we would age like but our raft guide made the trip very fun. Overall the location is great, well organized, great gear to wear and friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful and made us feel right at home. If you like whitewater rafting I would recommend Montana Whitewater if you’re staying around Bozeman or Big Sky! Shoutout to our guide Will for a great experience.

5.00I was in town with a friend of mine visiting my daughter and she lined up this trip for us and a few of her friends. When they go rafting, they always use Montana Whitwater and of course this trip was no different. This was actually my second time rafting with Montana Whitewater, the first time was when we were moving our daughter to the area. This time, like the first, did not disappoint. The vibe is super chill and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and they seemed to genuinely love what they are doing. We did the less challenging route and Bailey was our fearless leader. She was amazing! She even equipped us with glittered cheeks for that added sparkle going down the river. I also can’t forget to mention that Julia is an amazing bus driver! 😄

5.00Had 3 adults and 3 children. Emilie was our whitewater guide, she was a delight. The kids (ages 9, 11, 12) had an absolute blast!!! The adults enjoyed very much also. Not as much as we wanted to as we wanted to do the mad mile, but that's what happens when you have children too young.(Plan to hopefully be back one day for that.) Husband and I also did zip lining (our 1st time) Sam and Dana were our guides, and this ladies were great!!!! and had a sense of humor.

5.00What a great experience with Montana Whitewater. We did the least challenging option with our kids.. ages 8 and 6. What a beautiful and awesome rafting experience. Brandon was a fantastic guide!! Highly recommend!

MWW does a wonderful job all the way through - administration, customer service, guides - all are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, patient, responsible, organized, and instill confidence in their clients. We did the mid level rafting experience (class 1-3 rapids) and felt like it was a perfect balance of a relaxing float in the river as well as some more exciting rapids. Our guide, Saige, did a wonderful job of navigating us through the more technical parts & instilling confidence in us! The 1.5 hours on the river was the perfect amount of time. MWW provides all the gear you need - just being a bathing suit & towel.

5.00Our guide,Jacob, was awesome! We saw two bald eagles. Lots of fun! We also used Jacob this past winter to snow mobile in the back country. The ride down the river was simply stunning and a must do to really see the beauty of the river.

5.00We booked a last-minute trip with Montana Whitewater Rafting and couldn't be happier that we did. The weather was far from ideal — cold, rainy, and even some snow — but it didn't matter one bit. Our guide Rob was fantastic from start to finish, keeping us safe, confident, and laughing the whole way down the river. We chose the challenging course, and it was absolutely the right call. Our youngest is 15, and everyone in the family handled the rapids well and had an amazing time. Rob's expertise made all the difference — he knew exactly how to read the water and made sure we got the full experience. If you're on the fence about booking, do it. Even in less-than-perfect weather, this was a highlight of our trip. Thanks, Rob, for giving our family a memory we'll be talking about for years!

5.00The weather was not ideal (40 degrees in June) but it was a great time! Peter was a great guide-his jokes were appreciated and he was very knowledgable. He made the experience awesome, even as our hands were freezing and the snow was falling for a few minutes. The weather got better during the trip and the views are awesome. We did the less challenging trip but next time will definitely do the more challenging on. So much fun!

5.00Our rafting trip with Montana Whitewater was absolutely incredible! Rynn was hands down the best guide we could have asked for. She was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and made everyone feel comfortable and confident from the very beginning. Throughout the trip, Rynn shared fascinating information about the local wildlife and the different rapids we encountered, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Her expertise, enthusiasm, and positive attitude created the perfect adventure. We had an amazing time and made unforgettable memories. If you're planning a rafting trip in Big Sky, I highly recommend requesting Rynn as your guide! 10/10!!!
