Blood Compact Monument
The Blood Compact Site, also known as the Sandugo Shrine, is a historical marker in Bohol, Philippines that marks the first treaty of friendship between Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi and local chieftain, Datu Sikatuna, in 1565. The treaty was sealed through a ritual known as the "blood compact" where both parties mixed their blood in a cup symbolizing their commitment to the alliance. The site features a statue of Datu Sikatuna, a marker explaining the significance of the blood compact, and a replica of the cup used in the ritual. It provides a unique insight into the early interactions between Spanish colonizers and indigenous peoples and is a must-visit for those interested in Philippine history and culture.
Baclayon Church
The Baclayon Church, also known as the St. Joseph Parish Church, is a historic Roman Catholic church located in Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines. It is one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines and is considered a prime example of Spanish colonial architecture. The church was built in 1596 by Spanish friars and has been a place of worship for nearly four centuries. It is made of coral stones and features unique architectural elements such as a coral-stone façade, carved wooden doors, and stained-glass windows. The church also contains several antique religious artifacts, including a wooden pulpit, a retablo (altarpiece), and a choir loft. In 1993, the Baclayon Church was declared a National Cultural Treasure by the Philippine government and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018. The Baclayon Church is a must-visit for anyone interested in Philippine history, architecture, and religion.

My family and I enjoyed the tour with our driver, Erickson Jan Susas. He was attentive and took very great care of us on our tour. He also took very good pictures of us. We also saw very beautiful places. We enjoyed going to the chocolate hills and the tarsier conservatory especially. This was a very memorable experience for us. My only complaint was that we didn’t get to see the Sipatan twin hanging bridge even though it was part of the itinerary according to Viator.
