WOW. Summiting Mt. Fansipan was an exhilarating, exhausting and extraordinary experience with the young Hmong guide, Thong, that this company provided. The trail has everything that hikers and climbers could want — a bit of bouldering, steep, challenging ascents and descents, and even iron pipes fashioned into ladders placed on slabs so that you don’t need any equipment. It was the most challenging course I’ve ever done, and Thong, who did the entire trail in either plastic slippers or bare feet, was very encouraging and even stayed with me when I fell behind the other hikers. I did this trek in two days and one night, starting from the ranger station at 10 am, not sure what the elevation was. We stopped for lunch at 2100M, and made base camp at 2800M by 4pm. Bring only what you can carry. The guide and the porter are already carrying all the food and water for your excursion so you don’t want to burden them unnecessarily like I did. I would recommend this trip for anyone in strong physical condition. Helen at Mr Linh’s Adventures took care of every little detail and everything went as smoothly as promised. I would definitely use this company again. Thank you SO much, Helen!
