What To Expect
Fayoum Oasis
Location: About 90 kilometers (about 2 hours) southwest of Cairo. It’s not a desert oasis fed by underground water like Siwa. Fayoum is connected to the Nile River via the Bahr Yussef canal, making it Egypt's largest cultivated oasis.
Valley of the Whales (Wadi Al-Hitan)
Wadi El-Hitan (Valley of the Whales) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Egypt’s Western Desert. It’s famous for 40-million-year-old whale fossils that show how whales evolved from land animals to sea creatures. Visitors can see complete skeletons and ancient sea life and enjoy the unique desert landscape.

5.00What an outstanding experience, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly & easy to get along with. The driver was also friendly & drove well. The sites visited are stunning & the history fascinating. The 4x4 ride is a rush & the driver very skilled. One of us flopped massively at sandboarding (cough, me), but it was a fun addition to an amazing day. Lunch was at a local restaurant with the food presented to us on arrival, so there is no choice of what to have but it filled our stomachs. The restaurant had a lovely vibe & I recommend sitting inside. Water & snacks were provided for the journey as advertised We loved every second of the day & if you book to go I hope you will love it as much as we did

5.00Our guide Abdul was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. Abdul went above and beyond for us, detoured so we could get coffee, helped us find and tie head scarves and took some great photos and reels. Our desert driver was also great and the lunch meal was huge and delicious. Book with Abdul for an English speaking tour!

5.00It was a great day with a bit of everything - scenic drive through the Western Desert and Fayoum "Oasis", sandboarding on the dunes, super interesting visit to the Valley of the Whales, 4x4 drive up the dunes to a scenic viewpoint over Wadi El Rayan, tasty lunch and good coffee with excellent company from our guide and driver - the two Ibrahims, and 4x4 driver Peter.

5.00Our driver and tour guide Sahar are the best people in Egypt, professional and easy communicated. I wanted pics in certain places and they know exactly where is it, no trouble taking us around the dessert. Everything went smoothly. We had a good time

5.00This trip was absolutely amazing! Sahar is an outstanding guide—professional, attentive, and genuinely client-oriented throughout the entire journey. She was incredibly helpful, always supportive of our needs, and guided us smoothly from start to finish. She also took us to excellent souvenir shops where we bought beautiful jewelry and papyrus paintings. We truly loved the experience. The oasis and sandboarding were the highlights of the trip, and crossing the sand dunes in a 4WD jeep was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! A must-do trip if you are in Cairo!

5.00We had a free day in Cairo and after seeing the massing and noise that was there, we decided to visit the desert, although for Siwa we need more than a day, that is why we chose the oasis of Al-Fayum and it was a success. Amira the guide has made us spend an unforgettable day. Getting to Wadi El Hitan by 4x4 has been a bruuuutal experience!! And also very rich lunch. Highly recommended todov
