The room was nice and the rest of the hotel too. The staff was specially lovely and good. My kid loved the jetski experience. My only criticism is that the boat trips were too pricy. It would be nice to have the options of having less expensive trips with other guests so one can explore a bit more of the island and do snorkeling. The bay of the hotel is artificial so there is not good opportunity to do snorkeling.

Overall, amazing. First and foremost the STAFF was amazing!!! (beyond the front desk). The front desk woman who checked me in, not the most helpful. Not sure if it was a language barrier, but she seemed to give me deer in headlights when I asked questions. A little surprising seeing these are the folks that greet you upon arrival. I was looking to change the all inclusive package I chose- I wanted to upgrade it, not reduce it!!! She just kept telling me NO. Though, when my friend inquired later with another front desk person- they said I could have, just need to call Marriott Intl? Why can't I change something that hasn't been charged yet, right on the spot!!! Not a great way to start my week there! The resort: BEAUTIFULLY MAINTAINED!!! Can't state this enough. The grounds, the rooms, the restaurants, pools...every corner of this property is immaculate! We were celebrating our anniversary and our room service attendant did a beautiful job making us feel special with rose petals, leaf messages and folded towel creatures always being left for us! So sweet! Each couple had very different BURE's. All of which had unique benefits: We were on the Over the Water Bure. I LOVED it as there was a constant PERFECT breeze when I opened the sliders every morning. I don't LOVE sand so I was sooo pleased that we had no sand around our BURE that could be tracked into to the room. :-) The bed was super comfy, and we had everything we needed! So pleased with our room. Loved watching the fish swimming all around our room. The water was a beautiful blue - like you see in the photos. Truly spectacular. And, we loved we were so close to everything: The gym in the AM, Goji restaurant, pools. Great location!! Our friends loved their BURE's. One was Ocean facing and they had an AMAZING VIEW!!!! It was one of the larger options! They were very pleased! The 3rd couple had a lagoon facing BURE and the loved their room as well. All in all, we were all very pleased with the rooms. Pools - Surprisingly- on such an expansive property, we were surprised to realize they only had ONE family pool and ONE Adult Pool / Hot Tub. We would have thought they offered a variety of pools- I didn't study the grounds before arriving. I guess I made assumptions. Being largely a "couples" vacation destination- the Adult Pool sitting area was often full very early in the day! They have minimal seating which was also a bit disappointing. We were with a group of 7 - which made it hard for us to congregate together - we made it work but surprising. The only hot tub had it's issues, first day- we were overwhelmed by "pool shock" so much so it bleached my brand new bathing suit. Bummer. None of us could stay in - our eyes were all tearing up and burning. (Perhaps a sign should have been posted to wait a few hours before entering). Next day, hot tub seemed better but then following day, the hot tub was cold. All in all, it was fine. It was large enough to accommodate a decent # of people, which was great and near the bar - so ordering/receiving drinks was quick. Food/Alcohol: All Inclusive (not so All-Inclusive) From a critical perspective have a few items that stuck out that we all felt was a "shame on you, Marriott". First day, my hubby and I went for lunch at the Voi Voi and we both ordered the Prawn Lunch Mango Salad. When I think of Prawn, I thought, how delish this will be, fresh jumbo shrimp in Fiji!!! what an INCREDIBLE disappointment- we each received 5 MINI (the size of a quarter, each shrimp) that were coated with some type of crumb. and a shredded lettuce/mango salad on the side - tasty but tiny! Mind you- this was our "all inclusive" lunch after traveling over 24 hrs (OUR VERY FIRST MEAL on resort!!! we arrived at 7:00 am and weren't allowed to enjoy breakfast yet because we couldn't check in until 3:00pm) - and the rules for all inclusive - is : ONE LUNCH ITEM from the menu!! That's it! So, needless to say, BEYOND frustrating and disappointing. Why the hotel doesn't take this into consideration, KNOWING folks travel incredibly long distances to visit- they should have an option for all-inclusive guests to be fed upon arrival! Ok- fast forward to next day after lunch, we all decided we'd love some ice cream! We go to counter, order it and ASSUME it's part of our All inclusive Meal Plan. We begin to walk away from the counter- only to have them chase after us to charge it to our rooms - we were beside ourselves! Seriously- you don't include a little cup of ice cream on an All Inclusive trip where we are spending close to $15K USD to stay the week! Again, Shame on you Marriott. To give a review of the food, overall: They have TWO restaurants worth mentioning. The main restaurant- Goji - essentially, the 1 of two places to eat Breakfast Lunch and Dinner if you'd like it to be included in your All Inclusive. Food was spectacular. We all absolutely LOVED the food. The variety was incredible. The middle eastern influence was spectacular. As well, there was a asian fusion influence as well. Truly devine! But, it was ALWAYS buffet style. You COULD order ala carte which my husband tried doing one night, but he literally placed his order upon arrival and waited almost an hour and fifteen minutes for his meal - therefore we all realized - don't bother doing that again! The kitchen clearly can't hand one entree type orders when they are trying to maintain all the buffet chaffing dishes. The other restaurant for dinner is the Fish Bar. That is NOT part of the All Inc. so we ate there on the final night as special event. Food was quite delicious and in hind sight we probably should have gone there more often!!! (we ate off resort several nights as well- we were traveling with a native Fijian so he took us into Denaru which was a nice change). Breakfast: Always a highlight! Again, three types of cuisine and we all raved about our breakfast options! Job well done on Breakfast! Lunch - again- ONLY one item. Nothing more, nothing less. So we had to make sure we chose wisely so we would leave full. Otherwise, you'd leave hungry! Again, the staff truly made our visit spectacular! From all the Buggy Cart rides to and from our rooms to main gathering areas, the Live entertainment most nights, the Fire Dance and all the Harmonious Singing that took place all week was magical. We all wondered if when they are hired is it part of the interview process that they are gifted singers? I don't think a day went by that the wait staff would gather to sing the most beautiful songs. It was such an amazing thing to experience!! For certain one of the highlights of each day, for sure! Overall, we all had a fabulous time and were able to relax and enjoy our long awaited vacation. The things I mention above are more for Marriott's awareness and perhaps to help future guests to know before you go type info.
