We stop at a very moving German Cemetery, from where we drive to a section of the WW1 trenches. We will then visit the Monument of the Brooding Soldier.
After a short lunchbreak we leave for Flanders Fields which was one of the major battlegrounds in the First World War. Our expert guide will help you throughout the visit to understand the events that led to the first world war and how the catastrophe developed. We take you to Passchendaele battlefield and the Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world where British, Australian and Canadian soldiers lie at rest. You visit the Monument of the ‘Brooding Soldier’ and Essex Farm.
At 8 pm you attend the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate (under restoration works until mid-2025), a daily tribute to all Commonwealth soldiers and officers that were missing after battle.

5.00Stephen was a knowledgeable tour guide. He has thorough interest in educating people on the tour about the wars. It was a full day of visiting key sites providing plenty of opportunity to learn, ask questions. Easy to find tour meeting point.

4.00The tour was interesting and informative. My wife and I joined from Bruges. Meeting the group was easy and the bus was very comfortable. It was a long day, though. I think we would have preferred one less cemetery or two and shave some time off the trip. Maybe it could be just an afternoon…omit the lunch break. I think you have to have the dinner break if you are going to include the 8:00 pm Last Post Ceremony in Ypres. I also don’t think we spent nearly enough time in the Flanders Fields Museum. We only had an hour. A simple solution would be to give out the tickets/bracelet fobs before the lunch break (assuming that remains part of the trip). That way guests can determine for themselves how to prioritize their time over the two hours reserved for lunch and the museum. Overall, we enjoyed the tour…but doing it again, we’d look for a shorter option.

4.00It was very interesting and informative. My friends and I were able to understand the historical events leading up to WW1 and see the impact , which was humbling. On another note, The tour was advertised as a max of 20 people but we had 27 and it was difficult to hear all the information and had to frequently compare notes with each other. 27 was too large a group for this reason. The tour bus was comfortable.

5.00Stefan was a fantastic guide and showed us so many special places pertaining to the war. His commentary was so illuminating and I left understanding the events leading to WW1 and what life was like for the soliders. I couldn’t recommend this tour more for those with a love of history and an interest in WW1.

5.00The trip was very comprehensive and the guide Dietrich was excellent with his explanations. It is fast paced and the statistics were horrifying. The museum in Ypres was great. The last post ceremony was very moving and we had a bonus of a ladies choir, English I think. Highly recommended.

5.00Take the tour. Always remember the young boys. Our guide was so knowledgeable. The day flew by. The remembrance ceremony at the end of our trip was perfect way to pay tribute to the fallen.

2.00Tour listing indicates air conditioned minivan as mode of transportation, however, your was via a very large tour bus. Due to daughter getting motion sickness, I would not have booked this tour if I had know if eas a big bus and large tour group.

5.00It was a very long tour but very worthwhile. I learned a lot about the area and what went on during WWI. The stops were well paced and The Last Post at days end was very special.
