Our guide had studied historical art and was therefore a perfect guide. Art was the focus of the tour but our guide also gave informative information about how to enjoy the best of the city. The hour for lunch broke up the tour perfectly. I wouldn’t recommend to those not interested in the art and history

I booked this tour through Viator. I originally made the booking for 6 people on a certain day. 7 days prior to the original tour date, I switched the date and came down to 4 people all on the Viator app as directed. I received confirmation from Viator of the changes and an Apple wallet ticket. The date/time of the tour came and the tour operator failed to show. I called the tour operator, Take Walks, and they said they never received notice from Viator about the changes. I was then placed on a back and forth phone call between the tour operator and Viator for OVER 2 hours (I am on vacation!). Both REFUSED to take responsibility and refused to refund us or accommodate our changes. I will never use Victor or Take Walks tours again. I am being charged over $1100 USD for a tour we are unable to take despite me following all of the modification instructions.

We did the tour with Alma. It was absolutely amazing. She is so knowledgeable about history, arts, philosophy and mythology. We got good insights into all the sculptures and paintings. I explaining everything in details. The pace was really good too.

The other reviews are right. We loved this tour and couldn’t recommend it any more. I learned more about art history than I ever did in any college class. I was genuinely sad when it ended because I enjoyed our guide so much. There’s no better way to see Firenze!

Coverage of places and topics was very good. An unmentioned bonus is that at the end of tour in the Ufizzi you are allowed to stay longer. Even in shoulder season, the time save by not having to wait in lines was substantial.

This tour is the perfect mix of history and art! We left feeling like we better understood the historical significance of Florence and how connected politics and art were during the Renaissance. Angelo, our guide, was phenomenal and kept the tour moving at a pace that was respectful of all. Truly worth the money and time to have an appreciation for the beauty of Florence!

Laura was a great guide and gave us many insights about what we were seeing. I’ve been to Florence many times but this was the first time I’ve toured with a guide. It was really nice to learn so much more about Florence!

This was an interesting tour for some of the highlights of the city. Laura was very knowledgeable of the sights we visited today. In some cases, too knowledgeable. She was losing most of the crowd with the minutia of details spoken about quite a few of the art pieces she was describing. Some history is fine. A general overview of what was going on in the area, important families, political status and such is fine. Some details of how they were sculpted or pigments used would be nice. However, at the Uffizi, getting into the nitty gritty of who was friends with whom and who paid for what or commissioned what artwork for who.....that's too much. Describing the different periods and using the Madonna portraits - great idea! Easy to compare. But most didn't need half of what was spoken about. True, some art aficionados would definitely appreciate all, and more, details of what Laura was going on about. But not a general crowd of tourists. She focused on what she wanted to show and describe. She did not tour the Uffizi gallery as a whole. And after 5 hours, "Now you can explore on your own." would not do much for the regular traveler. If she would have pointed out some more artwork in general and not stay on one piece for up to 10, or more, minutes each, that would have made the tour much more interesting and enjoyable for everyone. Everything else but the two gallery tours was great. It all could have been spectacular. ESPECIALLY now that it was low tourist season and roaming both galleries was very easy. Laura also mentioned it several times of how empty the galleries were. So, with that in mind, why did we spend so much time on so few pieces. We did not enter half the rooms. This was NOT described as an art tour. This was a city tour with a tour of two galleries. Perhaps a better description is required. Or, perhaps a better outline for the guide to follow.
