What To Expect
Cozumel Mayan Magic
Our first stop is a recreated native mayan village where you will discover the rituals and traditions of the mayan region shown to you in a very rich way. With the help of alive characters, you will enjoy a spectacular show of Mayan dance, participate in Cacao chocolate and Tamal making demonstrations, taste natural chewing gum and maybe get instructed on how to play the traditional ball game. All of these, while immersed in the jungle of Cozumel.
Mercado Municipal
Our second stop is the local market, where you will discover a wide range of natural products that are native to the region, watch for yourself the dynamics of trade of Cozumel's daily life and have a taste or two of some local fruit according to the season or "just made" tortillas. A great spot for pictures as you will find a wide range of colors and mexican folk all over the place.

5.00My husband and I visited Cozumel with Royal Caribbean and booked this tour, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip. Everything felt extremely safe, smooth, and well-organized from start to finish. The Maya cultural village was fascinating, and the guides brought the past history to life in such an authentic and fun way. The visit to the local market was even more interesting than the tourist areas—full of real local flavors, beautiful ingredients, and friendly people. One of our favorite parts was the restaurant Gerardo took us to. It was a simple, local spot that we would never have found on our own, and the food was incredible. With so many fancy restaurants available on the ship, we really wanted to experience what it feels like to live in Cozumel and eat where the locals eat—and this tour delivered exactly that. We felt safe the entire time, learned so much, and enjoyed every minute with our guide Gerardo. Highly recommended for anyone arriving by cruise who wants a real, educational, and unforgettable taste of Cozumel!

5.00Our guide first took us to a very interesting Mayan food and culture presentation then on to a tour of the present day local Cozumel food scene, including tortilla making, food markets and then off the tourist beaten path to lunch at a local restaurant with excellent food. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent on this tour. It is highly recommended.

5.00Our family had an amazing time on the food tour in Cozumel! Exploring the recreated Mayan town in the jungle was like stepping back in time, and the interactive workshops were a hit with the kids. The visit to the local market was a feast for the senses and lunch at the two restaurants was absolutely delicious – the use of local and natural ingredients really made the flavors pop. Overall, it was an educational and tasty experience that the whole family enjoyed!

5.00This was definitely an experience not to miss! My poor husband was not feeling well the original scheduled day of our tour, and the staff was kind enough to reschedule for the following day at no extra charge! The next day, husband was still not feeling well enough, but I decided to still go on my own; and I’m so glad I did! The guides and staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the Mayan culture, both past and present! The information was so interesting, the surroundings were beautiful, and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cozumel!
