5.00Snow is a wonderful guide! It was quite cold at the day of the tour and she made sure to pay attention to all our needs, timely providing hot packs and warm coffee/tea breaks. The explanations were very comprehensive and illustrated, we got no lines and everything was handled professionally. Also, she took several pictures for us ☺️

5.00For a smooth 2-person visit, book tickets online in advance and arrive at 8:30 when it opens to avoid crowds. Start from the Meridian Gate, follow the central axis to admire iconic halls like the Hall of Supreme Harmony—take turns capturing photos of each other against the grand red walls and golden roofs. Skip the crowded main route occasionally to explore quieter side palaces such as the Eastern Six Palaces for a peaceful view. Wear comfortable shoes and carry bottled water. Spend 2.5 hours touring, then head to Jingshan Park nearby to overlook the whole palace complex together.
