The park rangers were very knowledgeable about the fort . The ferry ride with a narrative of Fort Sumter and sites along the way was informative. The self guided tour allowed us to freely tour the site .

Tour guides on the boat are very informative. Fort Sumter itself is mostly out in the open, so prepare for the weather. Nice perspective of Charleston and Charleston Harbor on the boat ride. Saw dolphins.

An hour at the fort was almost enough time to visit all the various spots and still enjoy the museum. The history of the fort extends far more than I had previously understood.
