There is no restroom at the fort, but the ferry remains docked so that you can use the restroom on the ferry.

Fort sumter itself was very interesting and worthwhile. The lower rating comes from the boat ride out and back. On a very hot day the lower deck was enclosed making it stifling hot inside. The way to the second deck was stairs or elevator. The elevator was out of order. My wife cannot do stairs so the ride was miserable. Shame on them for not having anelevator in working order. For the money paid for the boat ride you would think things would be in working order.

The activity overall was great. It was hard to hear the tour guide over the speaker with kids screaming.

Historically a must see. They were very good about informing you logistics of trip once on the boat. When arriving at Fort Sumter, there were excellent displays whether you are a history buff or not. You will learn a thing or two!! The building is well air conditioned and a respite for travelers on those hot days. Just the right amount of time for an activity.

The ranger did a fantastic and entertaining job of covering the history of Fort Sumter and the war. It made the 30 minute ferry ride go fast. Once we got to the fort we had an hour to tour the site, visit the museum and watch the flag being raised. It was plenty of time. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour for the price. Really just paying for a boat ride to Ft Sumter. The U.S. Park Rangers were super knowledgeable and friendly. They also provided a historian guide that gave a great walking tour of the fort. Also chuckled on the way back with an older drill sergeant type Park Ranger saying we had 3 minutes to get back to the boat and it’s a 4 minute walk. What a hoot! I’ll bet he’s a big softie once you realize his bark doesn’t bite!
