Join us for a shared guided half-day cycling tour of +-15-20kms with an electric bike which takes you on an adventure through the historical Franschhoek and its wine valley in the heart of the Winelands. It allows the most breathtaking views of the valley while on the bike. Along the way, we are stopping to taste wine at two family-owned and award-winning small boutique wineries. You will have a specialist wine guide who will talk you through the wine history, seasons of the vines, and the gorgeous valley you will be in. One epic adventure on a bike to see one of Franschhoek wine valleys.

What To Expect

This is the official starting point of our tour is at the Franschhoek Rent n Bicycle, no 9 Fabriek Street, Franschhoek. You also may come to park your car here safely. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour starts so that we can provide you with the correct sized bike, and helmet and also follow protocol. The tour will start with a briefing of the tour with your wine guide for the day. This point is also the end point of the tour. The bike tour goes through private wineries and vineyards and away from traffic and main roads.

Our accredited wine guide will guide you on an epic outdoor bike tour in a beautiful valley. He will talk about the wine history of the valley and the winery, the seasons of the vine, and the wines. The hidden gem Wildeberg estate will be the first stop for wine tasting on our route. Cycling here and time spent here are calculated together.

The bikes are excellent and the guide really tailored it to suit us as a family. The route was stunning and the vineyards were great fun! The whole experience was just beautiful and we all learnt so much about the wine industry! Our guide Ryan was a lovely relaxed man and looked after us well x highly recommended x

Led by our excellent guide Prince, it became a kind of private tour, as the three of us went bad on the road. Fine cycling and after a start along the rather busy road from Franschhoek, the dirt road was soon sought out. Right through the beautiful nature and vineyards. Especially the stop at Mel winery (Little Champagne) was very nice. Excellent wines, a very nice and knowledgeable hostess, and also nice that the Dutch owner showed himself. As all in all a very nice activity, which is also really recommended. Useful if you are a bit used to cycling, but because it is on, ebikes you do not really need fitness for it.

Very nice bike tour with superb landscapes. The guide was very pleasant and adapted the visit according to the group. Tastins of wine in different vineyards also at the top I recommend!
