This is leisurely cycling at its best. Easy-paced with your loved ones to enjoy. Our friendly guides will take you through some of the most exquisite wine farms in South Africa. We have special access to famous farms such as Mont Rochelle, Grand Provence, La Bri, La Bougonne, Holden Manz and may others.
Half day tours include two wine tastings on different wineries with time for an optional lunch (own account) on a third signature wine farm. We've also included a wine pairing where you can try spectacular wines with homemade chocolate or traditional South African biltong.
A relaxed and rewarding day you will never forget!
Our carefully constructed routes among the vines and backroads allow for plenty of flexibility. It’s your day – we can shorten or lengthen the distance no problem. Let’s get to the first farm for wine tasting and build your memorable day.

Grand Provence Estate
We hop-off the bikes to view the bronze sculptures spread around landscaped gardens. Feel free to visit the resident art gallery as well.
Mont Rochelle Hotel & Vineyard
We enjoy a delightful wine-tasting followed by a relaxed farm-to-fork lunch at Mont Rochelle Country Kitchen restaurant (lunch own account). Sit back and marvel at the panoramic views.

5.00Matt took me and my husband on a beautiful ride through some of the vineyards of Franschhoek and we visited two wineries. Matt was very friendly and accommodating and the staff at the vineyards (La Brie and Mont Rochelle) were very informative and friendly. We hadn’t cycled for many years but Matt tailored the ride to our abilities which was great - would highly recommend!

5.00Mándla was a great guide, he provided us a history of the area, it was very insightful. It was fun to ride the bikes in the wine vineyards and stopping in two wineries. The wines were so good, and in our last stop we had cheese !

5.00Abie was a fantastic guide on our half day tour. He gave us a long ride as we were really into the biking. We learned so much from him about the history of the area. We enjoyed the wines at Mont Rochelle and La Bri. It’s a great way to explore the area.

5.00This was our best time in Cape Town (so far) - and I would 100% recommend this for anyone that can ride a bike. Mike took us on the most scenic route through neighborhoods, farms, and vineyards. The tastings were great as well. This is the only way to experience wine country.
A must if you visit Franschhoek and like Biking!

5.00Exploring the valley and wineries with Hike and Bike was THE BEST!! We have been to Franschhoek many times and know the area well But doing it with Hike and Bike gave it a Plus Abi our wide was wonderful, professional, knowledgeable and kind. We visited La Bri, Grand Provence and Mount Rochelle all 3 good choices Thank you for a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

5.00A superb 5hr experience! The value for money is exceptional. Door to door pick up/drop off plus bike hire with Matt (very friendly and helpful), private guide (very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful), x2 vineyard tours with excellent wine tasting experience included and an amazing lunch at Richard Branson's vineyard. 2/2.5hrs of fairly easy riding, with a couple of hills that will give a nice challenge to someone with average fitness. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

5.00Matt picked us up at our hotel on time and brought us to Franschhoek to begin our tour. He had brought bikes the right size for us (tiny!) which were easy to ride. You didn't need to be an expert cyclist or super fit for this experience - it's easy going on the flat. The scenery is beautiful and its so peaceful cycling through the vineyards. The wineries are historic and the wines and pairings really delicious. Wine and chocolate especially! We ended with a truly lovely picnic under the trees by a river. Matt was an awesome guide who never tired of our endless questions and we never felt rushed. Highly recommended 😊
