What To Expect
Siegesdenkmal
Start your tour at the Siegesdenkmal (the Victory Monument) designed by the sculptor Karl Friedrich Moest, which is dedicated to the German army and marks Germany’s victory over France in the Franco-Prussian war of 1871. A public competition was organized amongst 18 sculptors to select the design for the statue.
Haus zum Walfisch
You will walk by the Haus zum Walfisch (the Whale house), a Gothic bourgeois house which is a complex made out of 17 buildings. The building has also been the central filming location for the 1977 horror film Suspiria.

5.00Ms Annabel was such a wonderful guide. We learned so much about the history of the city as well as saw little details we would have never seen ourselves. It was myself and my husband. Adult daughter and 6 year old son. After, my son said “the walking was worth it!” Thank you so much for all the suggested places to visit on the rest of our trip. 5 stars for sure!
