6 of us went rafting with John as our leader at the end of April and had a blast! The river was low, but John was an excellent guide, and made it so much fun. We were moving alongside another boat that did not seem to be having as much fun as we were. We got to explore a little island, and swim in the rapids. John gave us so much historical and contextual information, which we loved. This was a first time run for all 6 of us, and I’ll be honest, I was terrified, but was no reason to be. As long as you listen, you’ll have a safe trip. We also ran into John that night in Asheville, and he was awesome then as well. One word of advice, when they tell you to paddle with your core, listen. It makes it significantly easier. Ok two words of advice - DO NOT WEAR CROCS! Get yourself a pair of water shoes or closed-toe (required) strap on Teva style sandals.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our whitewater rafting experience with Asheville Adventure Company. The staff was incredibly friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, and they made the whole trip feel safe and fun. The river was perfect for both beginners and experienced rafters. We would absolutely recommend this activity and would definitely do it again!

Great experience all around! We had an amazing time with Laney as our guide, and the river itself was a good compromise for those that had some rafting experience and a few that had none. I would recommend this tour to pretty much anyone!

Excellent family excursion! Met up with a small group (two rafts, 13 people total) in Asheville and were provided with helmets, life vests , paddles, and safety instruction. We were transported to Barnardsville to begin our trip on the French Broad River Gorge. It was our 12 year old grandson's first time rafting and he loved it and can't wait to go again! Wonderful guide who was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the river, but geography, topography, and interesting historical information. Perfect day!
